Accepting that his presidential bid will fail, Libertarian vice presidential candidate Bill Weld on Tuesday obliquely urged voters to vote for Hillary Clinton.

In a Tuesday statement addressed to "those in the electorate who remain torn between two so-called major party candidates," the former Massachusetts governor told Republicans not to vote for the GOP nominee out of “fear for our country.”

“After careful observation and reflection, I have come to believe that Donald Trump, if elected President of the United States, would not be able to stand up to this pressure and this criticism without becoming unhinged and unable to perform competently the duties of his office,” the former Massachusetts governor said in a statement.

Weld ticks off a long list of what he sees as Trump’s flaws, including his childish response to criticism, divisive rhetoric about immigrants and minorities, instability, and lack of familiarity with policy.

You know what Donald Trump and a Jackolantern have in common? They are both orange, both hollow, and both should be thrown out in early November.

I got one for ya... :)

"So I asked my wife we could either have sex or go to this movie..."

She said "I'm on my period and the movie is sold out...."

But, she pulled some strings and got me in.
:drumroll:

Johnson/Weld Response:

"Responding to numerous web stories and media reports regarding Libertarian Vice-Presidential nominee Bill Weld’s strong denunciation of Donald Trump Tuesday, the Johnson-Weld campaign released the following statement from Communications Director Joe Hunter:

“Several web sites and media outlets have seized upon Governor Bill Weld’s statement from a news conference Tuesday in Boston to jump to conclusions that are wishful thinking, rather than reality.

Led by Occupy Democrats, a well-known mouthpiece for the left, the sensationalists and wishful thinkers are re-writing Gov. Weld’s forceful condemnation of Donald Trump into a suggestion that voters should support Hillary Clinton. That is absurd.

Governor Weld and Governor Johnson are campaigning nonstop, with rallies and appearances scheduled over the next few days across the country from Alaska to Cincinnati, and are fully committed to giving voters the third choice they deserve in this election.

Any suggestion to the contrary is the product of active imaginations and partisans in both the Republican and Democrat camps who see how many independents, millennials and other disenfranchised voters are looking to the Johnson-Weld ticket as a vote they can cast in good conscience.

Governor Weld has made clear from day one his fear of a potential Trump presidency, just as he has made clear his policy differences with Hillary Clinton. The only candidate he is urging voters to support for President is Gov. Gary Johnson. Period.

The wishful thinkers need to take a break and start wishing for something else, because the Johnson-Weld ticket is not giving an inch to Donald Trump OR Hillary Clinton.”

Now people that made comments above should delete them. Pretty embarassing.

Oh, so the second thing a politician says is the truth?

Interesting...

Lol. Occupy democrats is a bunch of constant horse shit.

I'm not sure what Occupy Democrats, whoever they are, have to do with this. Weld published his statement on his website. It's kind of weird to blame someone else for it.

Um... ok.

That was in eblazers post above.

Yes, it was. But that's just spin.

Weld's statement is plain English, it doesn't require Occupy Democrats to interpret it. You can read it for yourself to see what it says.

"It is a privilege and an honor to participate in this year’s national election campaign. I am grateful to Governor Gary Johnson for the opportunity to do so. Under Governor Johnson’s leadership the Libertarian Party has made great strides in this election cycle. Gary and I will carry our message of fiscal responsibility, social inclusion, and smaller government through November 8, and I hope that this election cycle will secure for the Libertarian Party a permanent place in our national political dialogue.

“We are making strides toward breaking the two party monopoly, and America will be stronger when we do, but given the position of the Commission on Presidential Debates, the deck is still stacked against even a credible third party ticket with two proven former Governors.

“Against that backdrop, I would like to address myself to all those in the electorate who remain torn between two so-called major party candidates whom they cannot enthusiastically support. I’m speaking particularly to those Republicans who feel that our President should exhibit commonly accepted standards of decency and discipline."

So, unless my reading comprehension is not a good as I think it is, he's saying that he and Johnson are carrying their candidacy through to the end. He does recognize that the deck is stacked against them. He says that those who are only considering a vote for one of the two major party candidates should NOT vote for Donald Trump because he is grossly unqualified for the job. I don't seen any endorsement of Hillary Clinton. I'm sure he would prefer that they vote for him and Johnson.

I'm sure he would. Nevertheless, saying that those who are choosing between Clinton and Trump should not choose Trump is an endorsement of Clinton (over Trump).

Or to put it another way: If you aren't going to vote for Gary and I (and most of you aren't), vote for Hillary.

Who could possible suggest you vote for Clinton with a straight face and expect you to believe it? Only one name comes to mind, but no one of sound mind would run around with that name.

Did Ben Carson write this post for you?

Hard to imagine Gary doing any better in the debates than Trump. He's probably lucky he was excluded.

Bill Weld tonight:

“I’m here vouching for Mrs. Clinton, and I think it’s high time somebody did… She deserves to have people vouch for her.”

Anyone want to try to spin that one?

Vouching for someone could mean he thinks she's a good grandma. Doesn't mean he thinks she should be president.

I haven't watched the video.

Weld said:
I know her to be a person of high moral character, a reliable person, an honest person, no matter how much Mr. Trump may rant and rave to the contrary. I'm happy to say that, and people can make their own choices.

Damn. I heard about this but hadn't done any research. I thought it was some bullshit. Sup with your guy @Denny Crane?

I disagree with him.

You won't hear barfo disagree with any democrat, even the Weiner.
