I'll start.

In the Express lane at the grocery store, if the limit is, say, 15 items....my "gray area" is 17 or 18 items. After that, I may say something.

That is, unless it's a beautiful woman....or a dude twice my size.

Saying is not going to do anything with some at Winco. :biglaugh:

Hell, I will go with you @ABM and watch you say something. :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:
You should know that I will literally laugh my ass off.

I never say anything. In fact, if I've got a dozen items or so and someone comes along with one or two I let them cut in front of me whether I'm in a 15 item limit line or just a regular line. My wife does the same. Small act of kindness? I guess so, I never thought of it that way 'till now. I guess I figured everyone was that way.

If a man associates with one pedophile, it's a grey area as to the character of that man.
If a man has two close associates (who don't know each other) who are both in jail for trafficking children for sex, then there's something seriously wrong with that president.

Well said and should be obvious.

Not certain if this is the nature of your post, but, as far as I know, Trump disowned Epstein, even banned him from his clubs well over a decade ago.

A political stunt. Trump attended a party hosted by Epstein where the only people attending were Trump, Epstein and 18 young girls. What do you think the purpose of that was? Reading Shakespeare sonnets?

Here's the deal: Trump has virtually the ENTIRE media and ENTIRE Democratic class that want him GONE.....yet he still stands strong. Why is that?

As an FYI I consider myself moderate but I lean conservative on quite a few issues and Im definitely more on the right then most here.

Didnt basically the “right” want Obama gone? Yet he got two terms and wasnt impeached. Its HARD to impeach a president.

I dont like Trump as a leader. I also think some people take their disdain for him too far.

I prescribe to the MLK line of thinking:

Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.

“Let no man pull you so low as to hate him.”

However as a leader Trumps onus is to lead, and unite and he makes no attempts to do that. He’s a hypocrit who has preached many things and been caught living the life styles he’s railed against.

Trump has stood because of a few things the Democrats in power have proven very inept themselves, and it isn't easy to oust a president (and it shouldn't be).

He still stands because

1) he's utterly shameless, and
2) voters like you don't hold him to the same standards you've always held every other politician - hell, every other adult - to

I dont think you can use the voters like you argument unless he wins another election. Once he’s voted in the 1st time, not much “voters” like him or you can do about it.

One obvious gray area I think we all skirt a little bit is the speed limit.

Well said! There needs to be more balance and moderation with a spirit to compromise, for the good of the youngsters growing up in this country.

One obvious gray area I think we all skirt a little bit is the speed limit.
When I was 19 I got hit going 85 in a 55 (and I had managed to slow down about 10 MPH before he was able to scan me, it was actually on highway 26 by the turn off to north plains. Anyways I think that scared me straight, I try very hard to stick to the speed limit (which I know pisses people off). Glad they let me take a class and walk away but the lesson was learned.

Here's the deal: Trump has virtually the ENTIRE media and ENTIRE Democratic class that want him GONE.....yet he still stands strong. Why is that?

He stands strong with less than half the country. Why is that?

Actually, a bigger question would be...considering how he's not religious, says inflammatory things ALL the time (and I'm being polite and not calling them racist)...has increased the deficit (all things that are classic conservative no nos)...yet conservatives and republicans are still lock step in support.

Why is that?

I see your point, but I disagree. Imagine if people like ABM started saying they weren't going to vote for Trump again unless he started being (not acting, being) presidential. Imagine if people like ABM started calling their Republican congresspeople telling them that they wouldn't vote for them again unless they stopped enabling Trump's worst habits.

You know, if one person, just one person, does that, they may think he's really sick and they'll ignore him
And if two people do it, in harmony, they may think they're both faggots and they'll ignore both of them
And if three people do it! Can you imagine three people callin' in, singin' a bar of "Stop Enabling Trump" and hangin' up? They may think it's an Organization!
And can you imagine fifty people a day? I said FIFTY people a day
Callin' in, singin' a bar of "Stop Enabling Trump" and hangin' up?
Friends, they may think it's a Movement, and that's what it is

I know you and I dont see eye to eye, but I respect your opinions and try not to chime in too much.

I find Trump to be fiscally fairly anti conservative he loves to waste money, his and the tax payers.

Then on other grounds he has sort of a mixed track record of being “conservative”, but “socially”, not even close, and all those morals and things my parents taught me, he has never lived even close to by those lines.

I think conservatives stand by him because they dislike the liberal/ democrats ideals enough their willing to say anything but Hillary! Or anything but insert some one Dem.

I think many now see it as either Trump or someone who they think will be extremely opposed to their ideals.

I get what you’re saying but, there are movements all over the place people pro trump, people anti trump. It wouldnt matter if his approval ratings were at 1% if the whole country said they wouldnt vote for him again, there is only a certain group with the authority to do anything about it and as long as they continue to not move. A movement by the people would do very little. When he was voted in, there was close to anarchy in the streets of many major cities, it didnt really stop his inauguration.

I suppose if the current batch of politicians were less fearful of their own jobs because of those movements then they may very well move on impeaching him, quicker.

You may be right, but at the same time, those people are kidding themselves.

If Republican voters actually didn't like Trump, they could simply vote him out in the primary in 2020. There are lots of people who would run if there was any evidence that Republican voters weren't following Trump with cult-like devotion. There is really no shortage of Republicans who would LOVE to be President.

I agree, Im no where near as educated in politics as most of you, but I absolutely dont understand why the side who has the incumbent basically never challenges them. Everyone I knew in 2016 that I discussed politics with (both Democrat and Republican), seemed to think the options at the time SUCKED, so now that we have a new chance to right that ship a bit, it seems odd to me that republicans are going to stand by the option even they thought sucked back then...

The irony is, she's not liberal, and he's not conservative.

They don't face competition (from within their own party) because they know the other side would market that as a weakness. Plus, you have people who run for the President professionally, and those who are "running for President" for the kick start of name recognition. And you'll receive more name recognition when you run in an election without your party being the incumbent.

Well, politics certainly wasn't the intention of this thread....but, whatever.

What's that got to do with his illegal sexual escapades with Epstein and Epstein's bevy of very young beauties, I call them children?

Trump stands far from strong. He even once stated "That's the end of my Presidency". The only question is will he be embarrassed by his total rejection in 2020 or will he first be impeached? Second, how long after he's booted from the White House before he's indicted on several felony counts? Once he leaves the White House he's no longer protected by the Justice Department policy of not indicting a sitting President. Mueller has clearly laid out his serious violations of the law.

Convicting a President during an Impeachment trial is far more difficult than just impeaching him which is difficult enough.

I think it can be based on polls which place such voters firmly in the roughly 40% category.

When I was young, I've gone down that hill late at night at 120 mph.
One time in California, again in my early 20s, I got clocked doing 90 in a 55 and like you I had slowed down about 10 mph before he clocked me. I was driving a '69 Volvo four banger. The officer said something like "just how fast will this go?" I smelled a trap and replied "I don't know, I've never driven it as fast as it will go." I can tell you, I have had it as fast as it would go which was 95 on the level and 105 going downhill on I5 through Salem headed North again late at night.

I probably should have had 50 more tickets than I got during those years, at least two for drunk driving.

The good news is that I was capable of learning and have done so. I'm now more typical of a Lake Oswego driver, very careful. I often drive the speed limit and never more than 9 mph over the posted speed. It's at 10 mph over the posted speed that they'll give you a ticket.
