If you have to buy 10 yogurts for $10, the management should count the lot as one.

Is it just me, or are many of these stores putting their s-l-o-o-o-w-e-s-t checkers in the so-called express lanes?

But, yeah, so long as they're not swiping those yogurts one-item-at-a-time, I agree with you.

I'm now more typical of a Lake Oswego driver.

When I moved to Oregon 19 years ago, we first moved to Lake Oswego, figuring it was safe, easy to manage, and had good schools.

One night, I'm going to pick up the babysitter and a car full of rowdy teens totally cuts me off and then flips me off. So I honked my horn at them for a good 10 seconds.

When I got home 15 minutes later, there's a knock at my door. A policeman is standing there and asks me if I honked my horn? I said yes. He said "We don't do that in Lake Oswego."

That is one reason I moved to SW about 6 months later, where I am today.

I have a somewhat similar story...I was driving to the library once, and going through a neighborhood (there's really no other way to get to the library but to go through a neighborhood). As I was at intersection, someone walking in the hood asked me if I lived there, and I said no. Then they pointed to the sign saying "neighborhood entrance. Local traffic only" (or whatever it says). So I respond with I'm going to the library, etc...and they said "well, this isn't a through street".

"I know, I'm going to the library"

I guess if people were going through that part of L.O., to get to Macadam, I could see their point.

Luckily, it was just once that it happened to me...and I just chalked it up to someone who was frustrated with people using the neighborhood streets to bypass Country Club/A Street. But part of me wonders if the reason he questioned me being there was due to the junker car I was driving at the time.

I hate the country club mindset of any area. Like when you park in a neighborhood (like in SE Portland) and sometimes you get people giving you the stink eye because you parked in front of their houses. Hello, you don't own the street!

I mean sure, just because I parked across your lawn....

I grew up in that neighborhood. It's now called "First Addition". I've lived on tenth, 8th, 6th and two different homes on 2nd. I know the area around the current library very well. No, I've never seen a local traffic only sign but I've seen on between Bryant Rd. and South Shore Blvd. The sign is strictly advisory and means nothing other than that. When I ride home on the VA bus they always used to cut through that local traffic only area to get to South Shore to get me home. We weren't local traffic by any stretch of the imagination.
I'm tempted to review the old neighborhood partly to relive my youth but also to sort of thumb my nose at that sign. Let's see ANYONE tell me I can't go through the old neighborhood I grew up in. I went Kindergarten thru sixth grade at Forest Hills grade school near there. Oh baby, I'm waiting to give someone a piece of my mind.

I'll start.

In the Express lane at the grocery store, if the limit is, say, 15 items....my "gray area" is 17 or 18 items. After that, I may say something.

That is, unless it's a beautiful woman....or a dude twice my size.

If they have 10 items, I'll say "what the fuck bro?"

Fuck them for that, and I'm not joking. 15 items does not mean 17 or 18

Here's the deal: Trump has virtually the ENTIRE media and ENTIRE Democratic class that want him GONE.....yet he still stands strong. Why is that?

define standing strong? Are you referring to Putin and the Russians continually hacking our elections and trying to keep the orange buffoon in office or is it the fact his approval rating has barely moved since in office? I wouldn't call a guy that owns the 40-43% approval rating as someone who is standing strong.

There are a lot of independents that don't care for him as well. His only base is about 40% of the country and the republican party refuses to do anything. Just once I would like to see some of them get a spine and a sack of balls and stand up to his bull shit.

True independent here.

Is t that true of the country in general, I was always under the impression that theres about 35-40% who basically vote one side on basically every election and then all the politicians are just after the “swingers”?

Well, it's not terrible. This according to Gallup...

It's not good either and the link I attached was an average of most of the main polls. Even the trump front runner polls, Harris and Rasmussen. Obama also was stuck with a horrible economy left from Bush while trump was the beneficiary of an economy that was growing along with a declining unemployment thanks to Obama. The deficit is also out of control thanks to trump. With trump it's a remake of Sex, Lies and Videotape. Clinton went through an impeachment hearing for lying about sex, where as trump lies about everything, cozy's up to the Russian and any other dictator while shunning our allies and destroying the relationships we have with them.
