The only guy that I've never heard Dame go to bat for is Neil Olshey. I would bet that Dame talks to McGowan and tells him that if Terry is gone that he wants Neil gone too.

Lillard went over Neil and talked directly to management about the team a few years ago.

Lillard knows Neil is in way over his head.

Gonna be a verrrrrry interesting week.
Hate to say it, but I’m excited to see changes.

Pretty much the only thing that would be more annoying is Dame requesting...

not even gonna say it

I love nurk and to a lesser extent Dame just flat out saying changes need to happen.

Yeah, but doesn't if feel like too little, too late?

Like OK, guys, you're going to get your change. BTW, Nurk, you've been traded to Minnesota. Dame, you've been traded to Charlotte.

Honestly I think Dame is staying. And it's not really a question. He's gonna want to see coach and gm changes and try a couple years with that. It'd be dumb and totally off brand to bail before seeing any of the changes come to fruition.

Also re: any trade with Dame.

The other team has to be in contention mode, that cuts the number of possible teams by more than half. Many of those teams already sold their draft pick warchest for other players. Dame has 4 years left on his deal. His value isn't going to be different if he goes from the 7th best player to the 15th best player because the teams that will want him, will still give up everything they can to get him.

I’m in the same boat. I think he stays, that’s why I’m excited.

Powell, Covington are the only other players I care to keep. Nurk to a lesser extent.

I would 100% bail on Collins, Melo, CJ

edit - add Kanter, forgot about him somehow, to the GTFO list

Why Collins? Is this because of injuries or is it because of talent? Or is it because you are butthurt he's not Donovan Mitchell?

Melo out
Kanter out

I would trade CJ, but there has to be value coming back. I would also cash in on Simons.

The objective should be to get bigger, preferably athletic fours that can play the five. Having a Collins will help, but can’t rely on him to stay healthy anymore.

At this point, the level of value coming back for CJ for me is almost irrelevant. I just don't want him in a Blazer uniform.

Paid like a super #2 guy (or a good #1 guy) but continually disappears at critical times. Just want him gone.

Trade him for HCP and a bowl of cheetos for all I care. Just want him gone.

How so? That quote and the song basically reinforces everything he represents. He's not giving up he's just waiting for the right opportunity.
“How long should I stay dedicated”, feels like a question someone would ask who is getting tired of being dedicated.

But that's not the full quote. "How long til opportunity meet preparation”. He's doubling down on his beliefs.

Also the song itself is just about dedication and unwavering. This is Dame in a nutshell. Any other star of the last decade would have bailed after the Pelicans series.

Ok. Hope you’re right.
