In the full quote he says that “they aren’t good enough”, “I don’t know what a shakeup looks like and what changes need to be made” “we obviously aren’t good enough” and “it’s back to the drawing board for us”

If you can’t read between the lines and/or cannot take context clues, that’s on you. It’s pretty clear to me what he is saying. Him demanding change its clickbaity but it’s pretty clear to me that change is coming from his quote. And hey, look, you’re here reading and posting.

It’s also a massively different tone than he has ever had before. “Run it back when healthy, run it back with X blah blah blah”.
i heard no "demands" in his interview.

Also re: any trade with Dame.

The other team has to be in contention mode, that cuts the number of possible teams by more than half. Many of those teams already sold their draft pick warchest for other players. Dame has 4 years left on his deal. His value isn't going to be different if he goes from the 7th best player to the 15th best player because the teams that will want him, will still give up everything they can to get him.
Sometimes, when I'm feeling low, I think "just trade Dame to the Bucks... for nothing. Let a small market team win a few championships..."

Tbh, i dont care about anyone on this team except for Dame. Maybe Nassir Little and Maaaaaybe Zach Collins but that's it. The rest could go i wouldn’t even care

Stephen A Smith just said “ a very reliable source told me Portland looking at Anthony towns”
Trade CJ and nurkic for towns il be down and resign powell ...
Stephen A-hole & 'reliable source' should never be used in the same sentence (except for one like this, of course).

It feels like it’s an end of an era… everyone is on the trading block not name Dame.

Hallelujah for that. What an unmitigated disaster these last four or five seasons have been. Big changes should have been made after the series with the Pelicans. If they had, perhaps we’d be talking about Portland being a true contender instead another one-and-done.

It’s the kind of bold move the team absolutely needs to make. Gotta swing for the fences. Enough of the singles and bunts.
Exactly. Towns is legit Top 3 big. Jokic would get truly challenged to the max if we had towns towns is way better than nurkic. Also we need a defensive minded 2nd big i miss hasan whiteside shot blocking we gotta get rid of kanter because on defense he is totally useless

what?
“Dame demands change”..that’s what I’m referring to. He didn’t demand change? Is he alluding to it yea sure. You’re just making excuses for a bad thread title.

carry on

Should have tried everything to get Harden.. just sayin

I'm quite sure we did. Would you take CJ, 2 young players, and a bad 1st rounder for Harden if you were Houston?

I can respond by saying I'm sure they didn't. Of course, neither of us should be sure about it. My strong suspicion is that Olshey never made any serious offer

and it's not like Houston got that much for Harden. They got the always injured Oladipo and a collection of picks and pick swaps that could very well all be very late 1st round picks

A bit clickbaity but it seems the writing is on the wall.

also at least dame, unlike some fans, acknowledges the MASSIVE disadvantage the Nuggets were at health wise and still won.

That says more about Dame, doesn't it?

Shouldn't a true superstar, or number one option be able to beat a team without two of their best four players? PHX has zero superstars, 2 stars, but no superstars and took advantage of the defending champs without one of their best players.

what a crock of shit

yeah, after watching game 5 it was SO obvious...to the ignorant and the trolls of course...that Portland's problem was Dame

IMO, there is way too much chatter around here and in Blazer nation about how Portland had better talent than Denver. I just watched every minute of every game and I didn't see Portland's superior talent. But then I don't gauge NBA talent like a college tennis match. I also didn't notice Portland's superior BBIQ,

the talent level of this Blazer team was overrated right from the beginning. But what was even more overrated was the fit and the mesh of the talent that was there

Portland has been a contender for the last 3 years but was ruined by injuries. We woulda been far better off if we didn’t blow up our roster every single year. Blazer fans never learn and are perpetually happy with high hopes of a new fresh roster. Nobody in the entire city understands the concept of chemistry except Olshey.

As good as dame was in game 5 he was equally as awful in game 6. He is an extremely streaky player that doesn’t know how to get easy buckets. His go-to plan is launching 3s from near half court, and it takes the entire team out of the offense.

also his leadership skills are just bad. He’s too much of a nice guy to be a good leader. People on his team are ok with being scrubs because he never holds them accountable. (Stotts also deserves blame for this).

I don’t see Dame ever winning a ring tbh unless he is the #2 option. You simply don’t win rings by launching 3s and playing iso ball / pick and roll every single play... especially when you can’t even D up the worst player on the floor (Campazzo). People will mention Curry’s rings but Curry is far better at playing within a system, playmaking and getting his team involved. (Again Stotts is largely to blame but so is Lillard).

HAHAHAHA 28 and 13.... awful....... ROFL
28 points on 40% shooting is nothing to write home about for your franchise player taking up half our salary cap who plays 0 defense. And Almost all of that came in the first half. He was non-existent in “Lillard time” and went something like 1-9 in the 4th. He looked totally exhausted in the first round of the playoffs, how is he ever going to carry us to a ring?

he needs to spend less time campaigning for Democrats, drinking wine, and rapping and more time conditioning, learning to play D, and learning how to hold his teammates accountable, . He’s not a champion, he just plays one on TV.
