Lillard Demands Changes Are Made

dame’s defense was atrocious all series long. He was the start of the breakdown in our defense countless times. Just because a guard blows by him, forces Nurk to help, then passes to Jokic for a wide open layup doesn’t mean Dame played good defense. Campazzo and Rivers are bad players who arguably shouldn’t even be in the NBA and they had no time breaking down Lillard.

I can’t name a single playoff series where Dame has ever showed up and even played AVERAGE defense. Ok nearly every play he just goes through the motions, watched helplessly as he gets screened and becomes totally worthless, forcing our bigs into a 2v1 situation. He makes CJ look good in comparison.

are you seriously under the impression that Dame is anything but an atrocious defender?

My work VPN says I'm in vegas

But I could also swap to Seattle or the east coast.

It's a shame your VPN doesn't improve the content of your posts.

Ha! Take that!!

Mean

yeah, this is what you would expect from a highly prolific scorer who isn’t an elite playmaker / struggles to get his team involved and who is a bad defender - but plays with our best defenders whenever he is on the floor.

it amazes me how obsessed with individual stats you all are. Basketball is a team game. If our team loses it falls on our leader. When Jordan lost people blamed Jordan, not Paxson. Dame is arguably the best scorer of all time, but when it comes to leadership and winning he is not even top 100. He is turning out to be like an AI, Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter bust but his fans never will admit it because “LOOK AT HIS STATS!!!”

Okay...so I am really debating with a guy who takes NBA expression literally......LOL.....

Score 20, gives up 20

Puts up 40, gives up 40

Drops 50, but give up 50

Gives you 30, but gives up 30

Are all expressions meaning the player has poor defense. It is a know fact Dame has zero defense. Stephen A Smith said, he told Dame and CJ this to their faces. Everyone knows Dame has no D. Which is why River and Monte Morris, whoever the F**k that guy is.......had some big nights. They are otherwise, so so players.

dame is one of my top 3 favorite players of all time and I even acknowledge his defense is total garbage. The people on this site are clearly beyond reason on this topic. Defending dames defense is just ridiculous. He’s one of the worst defenders in the entire league.

CJ was definitely Campazzo's bitch this series.

Not Dame.

Try finding one single replay where Dame ever locked down anyone in the entire series. CJ’s defense is bad but it’s light years ahead of Dame helplessly watching as he gets screened out of the play every play.

. If our team loses it falls on our leader…

You are absolutely right. Thats why you are as good as gone. You suck as a leader.
The leader of the team is the head coach. That would be you.

take your troll ass to another team, cause your days are done here…. Leader…..

lol.

I’m on a plane to Costa Rica..I was hoping to have the problem of finding a place to watch the games..guess not..I’ll still watch playoffs though but I won’t go out of my way in Costa Rica if it’s not Blazers

for a player who prides himself on “loyalty” I think demanding a trade unless our entire team is blown up (a team which has been remade and hand crafted to compliment his weaknesses no less than 4 times) is extremely disloyal.

dame is being a diva. He knew exactly how his Instagram post would be received. He has always been one of my favorite players but if he leaves now he’s dead to me. Loyalty means nothing if you just bail when the going gets tough. Either commit to ending your career as a blazer or go move in with Aldridge and his mom. He literally promised us he wouldn’t leave and now he’s taking his word back and making us beg... unbelievable.

Yeah Stotts totally failed to develop Lillard into a leader you are 100% right. Probably his biggest failure as a coach.

he forced porter jr into a turnover when he was guarding him in the block just last game…

but you as the coach are clearly clueless and dont see anything. Its why you suck and are gone.

28 points on 40% shooting is nothing to write home about for your franchise player taking up half our salary cap who plays 0 defense. And Almost all of that came in the first half. He was non-existent in “Lillard time” and went something like 1-9 in the 4th. He looked totally exhausted in the first round of the playoffs, how is he ever going to carry us to a ring?

he needs to spend less time campaigning for Democrats, drinking wine, and rapping and more time conditioning, learning to play D, and learning how to hold his teammates accountable, . He’s not a champion, he just plays one on TV.
He had 13 assists... Did you want him to pass it even more?

Hasn't the national media implied that Dame will be/should be traded *every* off season?

Warning: do not talk to people outside the Dame Dolla Cult! They are heretics!! Dame Dolla can do no wrong, he is perfect in every way! His defense is amazing, he always holds his teammates accountable and he has a better work ethic than Kobe and MJ (when he’s not rapping, clubbing, or attending Democrat fundraisers).

But that's not the full quote. "How long til opportunity meet preparation”. He's doubling down on his beliefs.

Also the song itself is just about dedication and unwavering. This is Dame in a nutshell. Any other star of the last decade would have bailed after the Pelicans series.
Yeah...the more I think of this, I still think that quote isn’t a positive.

I can’t imagine how delusional you have to be to spin this into a “positive.” He is threatening to leave the team if he doesn’t get what he wants. First he is looking for sympathy from other players to tell him to “do you” etc. he’s pulling a Kevin Durant. This is obvious to everyone who isn’t in the Dame Dolla cult.

Didn't he rip Austin Rivers then go down and hit one of his game tying insane 3s in game 5? Also someone noted in that same game he had the potential for 27 assists but no one could hit anything. Don't know if you actually watched the games or if you're just trolling but anyone trying to blame Lillard is just simply wrong. I'm not saying he's perfect but the expections put on him from some in this fan base are insanely unrealistic.

He claims to be an MVP candidate, yet nobody will judge him as an MVP candidate. You act like he’s some top 20 player and not someone we blew out our salary cap for decades for. He makes far more money than Jokic but overall was outplayed by him.

he’s not kobe. He’s not MJ. He’s not even steph. He’s not Durant. Hell, he’s arguably not even Kyrie. He’s a great player who likely will never even make it to the finals as a #1 option because overall his playmaking is not elite and his defense is Steve Nash bad.

Blazers should re-sign Powell then trade CJ for Jaylen Brown and if still a way to get KAT go for it.

Gee, a fan who is critical of dame and critical of anyone who doesn't agree with him.

I can't put my finger on who this is...

Every person you listed played with Hall of Fame players to help with the burden of carrying a team. Dame hasn't even had an all-star to help since Aldridge. I feel like you're just trolling so I'm going to just leave it at that.

That wasn’t an exhaustive list. You can also compare him to Jokic, or Kawai, or Dirk. Dame has the talent to be a GOAT but he’s underperformed relative to many other players. He got outplayed by Jrue Holiday for fuck sake. He’s essentially Jordan in the beginning of his career: he can score at will but he can’t win shit. Part of it is his team, but he’s not blameless.

The responsibility always falls on the leader. “It wasn’t me, it was everyone else” is not the mark of a good leader. Dame will never come out and say this out loud, but he is thinking it. He is a mediocre nice guy when it comes to being a leader. I don’t know how you can possibly disagree with this. I’ve never even heard a rumor of him raising his voice once, let alone threatening to beat/kill people like Kobe/MJ.

I’m not a “troll” because I call a spade a spade and mention that he needs to show more emotion. He is too distracted by things like Instagram, politics, and making rap videos. He is too smug and self assured when he hasn’t won anything and only has meaningless personal accolades to show for his entire career. If you think he has the same desire to win as Kobe or MJ you’re high.

I’ve been floating this idea to my friends in Boston for at least three years. Unfortunately it sounds like they love Brown. I wish.
