Yikes? There was a whole fucking movement on Twitter and Facebook and everywhere else “@Dame telling him about Kidd & Billups”

If anything, if I were Dame, I’d be more annoyed at our bitchy ass fan base than anything else.

People were @ing him telling him how they lost respect for him permanently, we’re gonna cancel tickets and a bunch of other non sense.

If I were him, I’d never comment again and watch as fans bitch about that. Just like he did.

I never got the backlash about him wanting Kidd. Kidd as a coach? Yes, I had an issue with that... but that shouldn't have made people so angry at Dame himself. That made no sense.

Hope he's still loyal after all that uncalled for bs by some of the fans. Direct it at Kidd, or the organization.. but not Dame. You know he's loyal to Oakland for fucks sake.

So embarrassing, as if these billion dollar franchises don’t vet their candidates. Thank god for little Ben Fuckstick doing a google search.

Honestly I didn’t bring it up because it’s so ridiculous but some of the comments were about how he must hate the women in his family and stuff.

Talking bout the same guy that had an article written or some other piece about how he goes out of his way to hang with the women (think it was an article about Hammon) because he thinks they don’t get enough love and he knows how difficult it is for them in an environment that is predominantly men.

that’s why I’d request a trade if I were him. As soon as my so called “fans” start questioning MY integrity, I’d be like deuces mf’s.

And as someone else put it... @the blazers don’t flood damians mentions. Absolutely laughable.

Its one thing to stand up for a cause you believe in, but to be so paranoid to think someone -- someone who hasn't had a shred of doubt in terms of how he treats others -- wanted a coach who had a checkered past means he's some sort of apologist for Kidd and domestic violence.. gtfo with this shit.

Wouldn't blame him either if that was some sort of tipping point for him. You gave this franchise and its fans 9 years of your life as a model player and citizen, then the FIRST TIME IN 9 YEARS he makes a suggestion that could be even minutely construed as something negative and people jump down his throat. Like... come the fuck on. The man has more than built up the cache... and this isn't even an issue in the first place!!! God damn.

the irony is there has been a loud choir of people, for years now, saying Dame has been too accepting of the status quo; that he should speak out on management decisions; that bad decisions have been allowed to stand because he doesn't speak out. That he was the one keeping Stotts in his job

so then, after a bitter loss in the playoffs, Dame speaks out and is pilloried for doing so. can't win

He has a couple years left on his contract, and Im sure he plans on fulfilling it. Everybody needs to look after themselves with respect to career & family. He has earned the right to be vocal if he wants.

Quick asked dame multiple questions about different topics. If he answers one and doesn’t answer the others than people jump to conclusions about the questions he doesn’t answer.

Good time for a “no comment on anything”

He didn’t just offer up any name. He picked Jason Kidd, the wife beater. Let’s be real. If he said “I’d love Ime Udoka” Portland fans don’t say a PEEP and on top of that guarantee he becomes the fans first choice.

Thats not the point. The main point is he has more than earned the right to be heard as to why he wanted Kidd. But they killed him for it anyway before ever listening. That's just sad, societially speaking.

Guilt by association is a common antagonism by Portlantifa types which is the kind we are dealing with here.

He couldn’t have picked a worse person to back. I almost feel like it was on purpose so he could come back later and say… I wanted Kidd and they didn’t get him

i guess that in a weird way we should thank dame thats jason kidd wont be our next head coach

And you don’t think responding to him and assuming that he hates women and is sexist because of it isn’t going over the top?
Seems a bit hasty.
Shit, at least give him time to be like “oh yeah,
I spoke too soon. My bad.”
But no, it’s always straight to the “OMG ABUSIVE SYMPATHIZER, SEXIST!”
Some people even said, “oh maybe he spoke without all the facts” and people were commenting “don’t care, still lost my respect!”

Maybe he legit didn’t think about it.
Many people didn’t know about Billups.

Anyway, shouldn’t have even brought it up, my apologies to the forum.

You're right.

Yeah, the point I made is the entire point.
Huh? You said that Damian deserved to be “heard” about wanting Kidd. Not a single person would be opposed to listening to him in this city. He’s treated like a god. But instead he picked fucking Jason kidd and that got shot down. As it should. People are supposed to be patient and wait for someone to educate Lillard on Kidd or send him mugshots or what?

Who did that? Random Twitter people? I supposed someone would need to put themselves in the position of ‘what if my sister was the one he hit’, and see why people jumped all over this. Until then too bad. Lesson learned.

So shouldn't people do that for Dame? They didn't.

I mean, that was what my whole post was about. “There was a movement on Twitter and Facebook to @Dame” and tell him how horrible of a person he is.

and the other premise was, if you want to say “too bad, lesson learned” he is well within his rights to say fuck this, I’m not answering media questions anymore that can lead to misconstrued answers if it can be misjudged this easily.

which is what this entire thread is about. Dame not answering media questions and I can’t blame him one bit.

no one is saying Kidd should or shouldn’t have been shot down. I’m saying how they went about it is probably what resulted in Dame saying, “nah, no more answering questions.”
