Of course they are listening. The guy only has to work a few weeks a year and this is one of them.

He would be an idiot not to listen and find out what is available from other teams. (players/picks) And if he likes it, he can always counter with someone else. Or remember it for later.
Dialogue with other GM's can't hurt.

BREAKING FOOTAGE OF NEIL OLSHEY AND PAUL ALLEN ON THE PHONE LISTENING TO OFFERS FOR DAMIAN LILLARD:

Man, are you guys going to be shocked when Lillard is traded to the Lakers for Steve Blake and a top-14 protected first-round pick. Olshey said he's looking to cut salary. Also, Blake fits the culture and is a Portland institution.

I'll be happy. Blake's hot wife will be back in PDX!

It not only doesn't hurt to talk and listen, it's a vital part of the job.

I'd offer that every such conversation helps estimate the market for every other player in the league.

Also, I'd again offer that it sometimes happens that a conversation about one player leads to conversations and even deals for other players.

It's trade season. Work those phones Neil!

I love Lillard as much as the next guy. But, honestly, he's arguably not even top 5 at his position. Why should he be untouchable? You should always be open to ideas to upgrade the team, even if a player is a fan favorite.

Bill Walton, Clyde Drexler, Brandon Roy, Damian Lillard, because untouchable is untouchable.

She's already back. Their kid plays in a local Clackamas little kids league.

As for Portland 'listening' to Lillard offers, that just means they aren't hanging up as other teams ask. Teams ask because Portland has so under performed....which they should do. It is then Neil's job to politely decline and instead ask for their 1st born for Meyers.

I don't even think it's arguably.

The dame haters were holding on to
This bullshit rumor. Dude is the franchise and staying here, get used to it. Come up with your little trade scenarios, all that. Won't matter. He's staying

In your opinion who are the top 5 PG's this year?
Also in your opinion who are the top 5 PG's since 2012?

Some of you guys are crazy in love.

Look, i like Lillard a lot too.

But why are you getting mad like a 6 year old who got his ball stolen?

All this article says is we listened to calls on Lillard.

Amico updated it adding we are rebuffing those calls.

Whats wrong with that? There is NOTHING wrong with listening to what Lillards value is around the league. And seeing what people offer.
