Lillard responds to Klay claiming loss to Blazers a 'fluke'

When did Klay say it was a fluke? And used that exact word? I don't remember him saying that in any post game quotes....

Oh, I see it. I don't see that he means we were a fluke, but that how bad they played was a fluke.

"We were out to prove a point that last night was a fluke."

Spin it anyway you like, but either way, it's disrespectful and condescending. Either it was a fluke GSW played so poorly or a fluke that Portland played so well.

And when you listen to Klay's postgame interview after the loss as well, you can clearly the condescending tell the attitude he has towards the Blazers:

Yeah, Klay seems like a bit of a douche. Curry and Kerr are class acts though. Even in that video, Curry is taking about how what Dame did is more than just a good night, and how much talent we have, and how the all star break was not an excuse.

One of the guys on Talkin' Ball afterwards mentioned that none of the GSW players congratulated the Blazers after the win but Steph. I've always perceived them as a pretty classy bunch and that really surprised me.

Win a championship first time in 40+ years and some of them think its contender status every year. th basketball on fire.jpg

That was a fluke loss one ass kicking in over 50 games seems like a fluke to me

when our all time record vs. the warriors is 121 wins / 95 losses.

how is us winning a 'fluke'. as much of a fluke as him beating Curry in the 3pt comp? less? more?

Has your team ever won a championship before? You and Warriors fans make it seem like you should go 82-0. Being the best team only means you are favored in every matchup, then there's the whole actually playing the game thing.

Let them get even more full of themselves it'll make their failures epic entertainment.

People are saying Draymond is the best center in the league; superior to Anthony Davis. It's gotten ludicrous.

Either he's saying we couldn't have scored so much if GS had played harder on defense, or he's saying our defense couldn't have confounded them if GS had played harder on offense.

Fuck him. His team got steamrolled by a better team.

Maris is starting to make sense..... what is the world coming to? :dunno:

I have to admit it was a fluke loss for the Warriors. Even bigger than the 118-101 beat down the Blazers put on them in preseason. Blazers seem to have a thing about making the Warriors flukey.

Can't humbly concede that another team outplayed his own.

It's just inconceivable to his mopey, pouty, sore loser douche mind.

I heard on sportstalk today that the 13 3rd quarter TOs the W's had were the most in a quarter by any team in the last 8 seasons. I heard Kerr hammering their TOs and overall sloppy play post game. I'd have to hear the mentioned quote in context to really know whats what, but it doesn't take much imagination to think that their own poor play is what Klay was referencing.

Kerr didn't think fluke. In his post game interview, he said no team in the league would have beaten Portland tonight. Sounds about right, the best team in the league didn't come close.

Mike & Mike mentioned during the 4th that Bogut was yelling at Stotts to take out the starters after they'd pulled theirs and the game was well out of hand. Personally I was loving the Dame show, but it's also easy to see why some of their guys might have given the Blazers a cold shoulder after that.

Safe to say the interview a coach gives to the opposing team's media is often very different in tone then the one he gives to the local guys. I live in the Bay Area and get my Blazer fix via league pass which cuts off the coverage as soon as the game is complete. Wanting to wring as much schadenfreude joy as I could from Friday night's fun, I caught the local wrap up. Kerr wasn't congratulating Portland very much, he was mostly chastising his guys for their lack of focus and careless turnovers especially regarding the 3rd quarter. He said something about them continually trying to erase a 15 point deficit in one possession and digging their hole deeper and deeper with dumb plays.
