I agree with that concept generally. But, when the hotness ends you have to look elsewhere. Also, there are may players in many sports that can get on streaks, but struggle at crunch time. Given Dame's crunch time stats the last two seasons (very large sample) I would suggest that you only go to Dame when he is in the middle of a hot streak. Otherwise, he should draw attention and defer to CJ or someone else who is hot.
Dame is a good leader and can light it up during games, but his crunch time numbers indicate that he either tightens up more than usual at the end of games, or he just takes bad shots--neither of which is good.
