I feel like he's much more likely to get his own shoe if he stays with Adidas. I wouldn't be surprised if the main purpose of getting a new contract with them is so he's guaranteed his own shoe.

Agreed. I think he would rather take a lesser offer from adidas if it meant top billing, rather than take a larger deal from Nike to be just another face in the crowd. At least that's the impression I've gotten from him.

The contract was 13 years for $185M. That's insane.

How the big stars don't take cuts in their NBA salaries to help bring in more players is beyond me. Big 3 in Miami did, but after that, not many.
