Would you give up Simons to get Butler? I would. I want to win a championship and I believe we’re close. If KD leaves golden state, even closer.

Dame
CJ
Butler
Collins
Nurkic

God damn!
I rather have a PF, there’s only one ball... having 3 guards like that would basically become ISO-fest, or someone is gonna get the short end of the stick and feelings will be had.

So the 76ers basically trade Butler for Trent? :smiley-smiley-049:

Hey, but they get 2 not so great 2nd round picks as well. That's great value for a player of Butlers ability, Why wouldn't Philly do that (green font). lol.

This type of move is the only way I can think of to make it work:

Butler agrees to sign for something like 4 years, $100 million.

Blazers get Butler

Wizards get Turner, Harkless, young assets via Blazers, and 2020 1st/2022 1st both via Blazers

76ers get Bradley Beal

I don't know if any of the 3 teams do that. This is just way too out in left field.
I doubt the Wizards do that, their owner said it many Times he will not agree to a rebuild. Would have to find a other team

Damn someone tell the warriors there’s only one ball.

The warriors have had a lot of drama since KD was added though, yeah they win but they are even more talented than we would be with Butler.

Dude you really gotta stop making it sound like someone said something that they didn't say.

Just because you think trading CJ is the only way, doesn't mean that's what Stephen A said. Why not just say, "Not gonna happen unless we trade CJ."
I don't have to stop anything. I can post the way i like. Don't even know where you get this notion that i really gotta stop making things sound like anything?
You don't like a statement i made to absolutely nobody that is your problem. You responded to me. Not vice versa.
Hope you enjoy the game.
Go Blazers.

Pretty sure they know as they only have 2 players that like to play with the ball in their hand while we would have 3 and Butler has been very outspoken about his roles on various teams.

Man.... why did you call me an asshole? That's really rude. Gosh....... you should really lay off these personal attacks.

So Philly gets Trent jr and a couple of late 2nd round picks for Butler? lol, Philly would laugh at you. Heck Atlanta gets the better deal for Prince which is maybe a slight upgrade over Harkless.
This is what i'm talking about. The Blazers have only one real piece that would suffice and he ain't going anywhere. So i have a hard time believing this will ever come to pass.

Butler would be so perfect for Portland. He plays with a chip on his shoulder. He’s tough. He can play SF. Yeah he’s not afraid to voice his opinion, but so what? One thing I’ll never be worried while Dame is around is chemistry. If anything, Butler would probably play the best ball of his life here. If this is true (big if) Olshey should be all over it.

Nice! Now you are learning.
S2 is entertainment and you just got entertaining for sure.

Why? He actually looks at the basket, trying to score now, and he's pretty good at it.
No, he's not "pretty good at it."
Great kid though. Saw him pushing Coach Yim's wheelchair.
First time I ever felt confidence watching Noah do anything.

Better than Aminu at 1/4 the cost. Upgrade while cost-cutting? For a team over the threshold, that sounds pretty good to me.

You obviously missed the parts of my post where I said this "type" of trade and where I said I still don't know if any if the 3 teams would do that.

Besides, the Wizards owner has already fired their GM and they dumped Porter for little in return as well. You think he's going to just keep paying the rest of the massive salaries when they can't even make the playoffs in the East?

Why do people keep saying this????

We don't know what either will sign for this summer. Just because Vonleh signed for cheap this year doesn't mean he'll sign for cheap with us after showing some real promise this year.

If Vonleh doesn't sign for the minimum we have no way to sign him.

For the record, I'd rather have Vonleh but it's going to be very unlikely we can sign him whereas we have Aminu's bird rights.

Vonleh at 1/4 the cost? How do you figure as he is a free agent and nobody knows what he might get. I would imagine him and Aminu will receive similar offers.

What’s the max on jimmy, I’m too lazy to browse this thread. Around $30M? Theoretically speaking, would Moe, Evan, and Simons work financially in a sign and trade?

Aminu is likely to get 6-9 million a year, Vonleh would be lucky to get more than 3 a year.

Why I am interested in Jaylen Brown over Jimmy Butler. I chose the 3rd season for each of them for comparison. In addition Brown can be acquired in a straight trade where as Butler is looking for a max contract and it would require a near impossible sign and trade. Numbers are amazingly similar and also very similar in size. Brown also doesn't require the ball to be in his hands as much as Butler as well. Discuss?

I always love threads like these as the same posters who constantly rag on our players also over value them in trades.

Jimmy is a pipe dream imo, Ballsack Griffin on the other hand might be obtainable. The way Zach is playing and only being 21 do we mortgage the future for Blake?

Nurk
Zach
Hood
CJ
Dame

Is a pretty solid starting 5 when healthy, especially if Zach keeps working on that 3.

Doubt it, he played for one of the worst teams in the nba and put up average stats.

We will see. I can see him getting close to what you say Aminu will get from the Knicks. Regardless, I don't see it being only 1/3 of what Aminu will get which is what I originally responded to. We can argue all day long with what each will make, but the bottom line, neither of us have any information to support the numbers either way.

It was nice of Damian to take a moment out of his busy playoff schedule to have a nice one on one with Stephen A Smith.

I wonder if they discussed buying unicorns as well as attracting a high priced free agent to play for a Blazers team with zero cap space.
