Lillard wants to play alongside Brandon Roy.

Did you guys read the tweet? He was asked what former Blazer IN HIS PRIME would he like to play with. So he chose prime Roy. Not a bad answer.

Still means he doesn't want to play with McCollum. That's the direct consequence of bringing on board a prime Brandon Roy.

That's still a weird answer. The question was about adding the player to the current Blazers roster, so why not chose a SF or a PF ?

Roy would probably play SF. We'd be undersized, but imagine:

Lillard
CJ
Roy
Anyone
Nurkic

That's be nasty!

Roy would make a hell of a small ball power forward. Probably what Lillard was thinking.

Lillard
McCollum
Harkless
Roy
Nurkic

Roy would be too redundant IMO. We'd have 3 players that like to play ISO ball in the half court.

Prime Sabas was GOAT, period, full stop.
Total agreement. However, when talking about an addition to the current roster I think position has to come into play. Maybe I'm too afflicted with Nurk Fever, but it seems to me that - for today's game - we have C well enough covered. And I want to see the continued development of Nurk! I think the bigger upgrade would be Pippen or Sheed at the F spots. I'm a big fan of Harkless, and not really a fan of Vonleh, so I think Sheed over Vonleh might be more bang-for-your-buck than Pippen over Harkless. Buuuuut, Pippen was just such a masterful player that I'll play him at PF. He could easily guard today's "P"Fs - yes, that P is in quotations cos there ain't no POWER in the position these days!

Prime Sheed isn't the greatest talent to play for the Blazers, but I agree about what an outstanding fit he'd make. If it were legal within the rules to take a player who's prime wasn't with the Blazers, then I'd choose Pippen or Sabonis. The greatest talent as a Blazer was Bill Walton, but that "prime" was so short. Drexler was probably the best combination of talent as a Blazer and normal-length prime.

If it were for just one season, I'd take Walton. Yes, we have Nurkic, but I think Walton could excel as a high post player, allowing Nurkic to play in the low post. If it was for multiple seasons, I'd take Rasheed Wallace. Perfect fit for the era, fills the team's biggest hole in the starting lineup and a natural fit next to Nurkic.
