Lillard's invisible performance

Because then people bitch that he's not being aggressive enough. It's a double standard.
Who are these people that complain about someone not being aggressive enough because he passes to open teammates when he's being double-teamed? And why would such an idiotic complaint warrant any attention?

Heh, yeah.... because there's so much to do.

Did he edit your post? Delete anything? Ban anyone?

I think I've deleted one thread in the last six months, and I'm not even sure Stren has done much more than that. Why don't you keep it about basketball?

I think I've edited two posts, deleted one thread, and never banned anyone.

I will say that he has taken a couple suspect shots per game this series (actually, I'm on record as saying that)

But he still wins us games, so it doesn't bother me.

Yeah and that was mine you emo ass!!!!

It's not about basketball with you two. It's about how emotionally attached you are to players. If you read through your emotional breakdown in the game thread you'd be embarrassed.

lol.

You do realize I was level headed throughout the whole game last night? I guess you didn't.

Here are some examples just from this last game.

Come on, Dame. wake the fuck up and lead your team.

come on Dame - get the F goin!

Has Lillard even scored a point? WAKE THE FUCK UP!!!

I'm watching hesitant play from Lillard. You're our star. STEP THE FUCK UP.

if Lillard does not wake up its very possible

Playing like we did in the loss to 76ers. Lillard needs to get his head out of his ass. This is ridiculous.

If Dame takes a back seat and doesn't shoot because the Clips aren't giving him open looks, he has more posts like this to look forward to.

We'll get another shot to see if Dame can finally have a great series since the Houston one

OMG people who are emotionally attached to their favorite team!?!?! HOLY SHIT! That's NEVER happened before, and on the official forum of the Blazers!?!?!

NO WAY!

And I've said it before. I post pretty much everything that I'm feeling/seeing in the game thread. I do the same thing with the Ducks. It's cathartic. It annoys some people. I don't care. Deal with it.

He has earned the fucking right to take a few bad shots to see if he can get himself going. We wouldn't be here without him. People need to get off his nuts. We're WINNING THE SERIES RIGHT NOW.

Good god some people are never happy.

You know what I find funny?

Those who think they are level headed and don't get emo and say some of us take this too serious, are also the ones that seem to hold the grudges to the bitter end and cant get over things.
If im taking it way to serious, then how am I able to be cool with those 'Ive had issues with in the past, but some others are unable to do the same? Who's taking it too serious now? ;)

Funny as hell

Ah--the game thread. Such a bastion of reason and logic. I thought we were talking about people intelligently analyzing performance after-the-fact, not people emotionally reacting in the moment.

Yeah--I couldn't care less about what people say in the game thread. I guessing Dame would agree.

And they like to throw in personal attacks at the end of their posts if you disagree with them.

I might disagree with you on some things Orion, and we will argue, but I don't call you names or attack you personally. I'll just argue with you until the bitter end. And I'm an arrogant, condescending asshole.

But it's indicative of the mindset. He can sit back and be a decoy and people will accuse him of being passive and/or asleep, or he can be aggressive and proactive and people will accuse him of taking bad shots. The dude simply isn't going to get a lot of good shots in this series. Not with the way LAC is defending him. I'm fine with him taking 15-20 shots per game, even if some of them are not necessarily great shots.

Ding ding ding.

And that's your opinion, to which you're welcome. My opinion is that a team is generally better off when players pass out of double teams to get better shots for their teammates. Either opinion has validity, don't you think?

I wonder though, since you clearly want him to shoot for volume regardless of the defense, and also criticize those who seem to agree and complain when Dame isn't playing aggressively, is there a manner in which Lillard could play that you would deem worthy of critique?

He HAS been passing, but those passes are going to Plumlee and then Plumlee finds the open man.

Someone brought up Dame taking a rushed three and then that leading to a breakaway dunk. That happened like... two times last night. I guess I just don't see how that's such a big deal.

God Damn. Are we twins? Wanna go drink a beer and argue?

I can't comment on others' criticisms. I can only comment on my own opinion. My opinion is that if Dame is 4-19 on threes off the dribble in this series, and the numbers showed similarly throughout the season that he and CJ both were much more effective off the catch than off the bounce, then I would prefer that Lillard take fewer 3s off the dribble. I don't see how that's so unreasonable.

Ummmm when Aminu scores 30 and Crabbe goes 5/5, that is because of the attention Dame commands. Dame played great last night. He was calm when trapped. He got the ball to Plumlee. He found Crabbe and Aminu in rhythm. Anyone who thinks Dame played badly last night wasn't paying attention.
What? You mean there is more to the game of basketball than shooting at a high percentage?

Mind. Blown.

I just raced through this thread.

My, my. Some posters are awfully testy. Surprising considering the Blazers ARE ON THE VERGE OF ADVANCING TO THE SECOND ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS in a season the "experts" predicted they'd have the second worse record in the entire NBA.

But, forget all that.

Let's bicker! :)

Just a random thought, but I wonder if (some) Blazer fans aren't a tad sensitive on this issue because of bad memories over Nate's ISO insanity? I for one would be really upset if Dame started channeling Roy and tried to go 1-on-5. That (sorta) worked for Roy - but that isn't Dame's game.

So who is going to pass to Dame? Where are those shots off the pass going to come from?

In the videos I watched, primarily from CJ and Plums. Occasionally from Aminu or Hark from the ball being swung around the perimeter. Why does it matter from whom the ball would come? Are you suggesting that the other Blazers are unable/unwilling to pass to Dame? :MARIS61:
