This 2 PG lineup with Maynor running the offense and penetrating and taking so much of the pressure off of Lillard has done wonders for both their games. Even with Eric starting off alittle slow, so far this tandem is producing in a major way.

In the games Maynor has played in Lillard is averaging:

50.5% FG
44.1% 3FG
85.2% FT
5.6 AST
1.8 TO

And while he started out slow, Maynor's been very productive off our bench:

To go from Felton and Nolan, to this all in one year is pretty damn amazing.

The Mavs won a title with Jason Terry and Barea. The NBA is moving towards more undersized SG. Id like us to add a shotblocking big and wing defender but otherwise our roster has as much potential in 2-3 years as anyone outside Mia/Okc.

Cost wise, if we could sign Maynor for 3 or 4 yrs at 3.5-4 mil per it might be a great deal as it allows Lillard to play SG a good bit and Maynor is proving very effective. A Lillard-Maynor-Wes main guard rotation would IMO be very good and very cheap the next 2-3 years. Wes averages 7 mil the next 2 yrs, Damian 3.2 and if Maynor gets lets say 3.5-4 per that's around 14 mil for a very good guard rotation.

No, I just think the player evaluations are off.

Nolan Smith could be a very good player in this league, but he's going to have to be given a chance at SG to develop his confidence. He hasn't had the chance. I've fallen off the bandwagon because I now no longer care if he gets the chance because our current 3-guard lineup is playing well.

I think the other bench players need to be reevaluated too. For example, IMO Barton >> Babbitt. However, it may be that Maynor + Babbitt > Maynor + Barton. I don't know and I don't think anyone will know unless it's tried.

So he's a combo guard sometimes. Big deal. He runs the team 30 out of the 40 minutes a night that he plays. Doesn't that make him more PG than SG?

Besides, what do we want out of our PGOTF anyway? Scoring? Passing? Gotta sometimes pick one or the other because of the effort involved in each. Maynor's siphoning off some of Lillard's assists, but both are making plays out there for Batum, JJ, and LMA.

Basically, it seems like Lillard's playing PG until he gets too tired, then he lets Maynor play PG, and goes SG for a bit. Big fucking deal.

It seems like shorty SGs forced to play point are often called Combo Guards, and so the term's gotten a bad name. But a PG who can play some SG? That might be the good kind of Combo Guard.

There are a lot of merits to the two PG lineup as long as your guys can guard their guys. Watching teams last weekend I noticed good teams are still doing this a lot.

Lillard is a point guard who can catch and shoot or drive, so he can also play off the ball when he needs a 'rest'. Semantics aside, he's fucking good.

I have always loved two PG's on the floor at the same time. Look at our 76'-77' team, OK yeah we had the best passing center of his era, but we also had three other guys on the floor at all times who could dribble and pass. A three guard rotation of Hollins, Davis and Twardzik to go along with Bobby Gross at SF made for great ball movement.

With a SF like Nic, combined with 2 PG's you can see how well things move. I love it in crunch time.
