I like Canzano's piece on this concept. Will the Blazer management ever pull this idea and let a rookie bench player get minutes to see what they are about? I doubt it. I would like to see Nolan Smith and Elliot Williams play more.

Knicks coach Mike D'Antonio was forced to turn to Lin because of injuries. And Lin is now making him look brilliant. And I can't help but wonder, on a day in which Nate McMillan announced that he's making no changes to his starting lineup despite the struggles, whether the Blazers coaching staff and front office is so stubborn that they've missed players such as Lin. Worse yet, they've ignored and neglected the own possible surprises in their own locker room.
Lin broke out in New York. And I could hear the whispers from the ends of the NBA benches from good players who are held back by coaches that never give them opportunities. I'm tired of hearing that players are too young, or lack experience, or were undrafted, and finally, we have solid evidence that opportunity is all some need.
