Playing against the worst team in the league he should have had 40pts & 20rbds
I was ready to annoint him MVP until that pass hit him in the hand bricks when he was wide open under the basket.
THIS.Because of his exceptionally slow reaction time to incoming passes, the uncoordinated spazz bobbles away about 4 easy layups per game. What Felton was at the passing end, Aldridge is at the receiving end.
THIS.
If ifs and buts were something something...
And can you imagine what numbers Hickson would be putting up if he had ANY plays ran for him?
Let's see, he's playing 10 fewer minutes, taking 10 fewer shots, is shooting 10% better, and is averaging only 10 points less....
C'mon people - PPG really doesn't measure much beyond how much a player is used in the offense. There have always been bad players averaging 20+ PPG.
Yet he still manages to get 20+ points and 8+ rebounds. Could you imagine what he could do if he didn't fumble? He would be scoring 30 PPG

That's the point. He has the physical talent to be so much better, but he never will be, because his brain is miswired.
No, I can't imagine it, because Hickson's not a scorer, and will never be a primary scoring option on any team that wants to win. I'd love to see how Hickson would handle all of the double-teams that LMA receives. It would be hilarious.
Few teams make the PF or C the leading scorer. The reason is that it would take their focus off of more important duties. I like Hickson not thinking of points all game long.
Totally agree with you here. LMA might be a bit more of a scorer than Hickson, but the results are the same - losing. But I think my point remains - if a team so chose to pound the ball into Hickson 18+ times per game, I'm fairly certain he'd be averaging 20+ ppg and even more rebounds than whatever he's currently averaging. Just trying to illustrate that averaging 20ppg is kinda meaningless...there are lots of players that could do it.No, I can't imagine it, because Hickson's not a scorer, and will never be a primary scoring option on any team that wants to win.
Other than Detroit and Miami; every other team in NBA history for the last 20 years had a PF or Center as their #1 or #2 scoring option on the championship team.

This would be relevant if we had a chance to win it all--if Aldridge's leadership had already brought us into championship contention. But his leading us in scoring has taken us in the opposite direction.

I agree with most of what you are saying, but I don't think Chicago had much scoring from the C/PF sport either.
Every time I read here how great Aldridge is because he shoots so much that he inevitably averages 20 ppg, I think, I guess it would be impressive if our PG got a lot of blocks, or our C a lot of assists, but it's just not the best stat for that position to spend all his time pursuing. Scoring so much is why Aldridge is inferior in other areas.
