The whole "I'm here now" routine never sounds good to me. "Hey, Bob, thanks for taking the job, how do you like it so far?" "Well, I'm here, aren't I?"
The difference, of course, being that your employer cannot trade you to another company in your industry. That's what Lamarcus was responding to--the suggestion that the team could trade him. So in context, his response was essentially saying, "Well, they haven't traded me, so I'm still a member of the Trail Blazers, and that's the only team that matters to me right now."
In regard to the question that was asked, what would you have wanted him to say?
It could also be "seriously, you guys need to find a hobby during the off season instead of obsessing over everything one of us says about the city of Portland. Apparently you guys are good at reading tea leaves, try that"
