Again, trading aldridge for a center makes no sense.

To be fair, if lma would have forced his way out Noah would have been a good get considering the circumstances. And we could have laughed at lma for wanting out so he could play with rose when lillard looks like he might be just as good

But it didn't happen and we can't laugh at him. Now we can praise him for staying and being our MVP and the best PF in the league

I recall a lot of people wanted Joakim Noah for Aldridge last summer.

Noah's contract is up at the same time as LMA's. Basically, the Blazers would have been in the exact same position in terms of an expiring contract, and without the historical ties that LMA has with the Blazers.

As I recall the Bulls wants Aldridge+ for Boozer and Deng. and Denny was trying to sell everyone on the idea that it would be good.

First sentence of the linked article.

The Portland Trail Blazers and Chicago Bulls discussed a deal in the offseason that would have centered around LaMarcus Aldridge for Joakim Noah, according to several sources.

That's why I mentioned Noah and his contract.

You'd think that someone who is going to use TS% would realize what an impact 3-point shooting has on TS%. Throw in the fact that Love is primarily an outside threat in a set offense, while LMA can post up and demand a double, which leaves Batum and Matthews with open looks at 3 on perimeter rotation out of the double.

There is a VAST difference between Kevin Love and LaMarcus Aldridge. The raw stats would say there isn't but the fact the PER is over 5 points apart (27.9 v 22.7) and the TS is miles apart (.589 for Love, .515 for Aldridge) explains the gulf. - See more at: http://forums.realgm.com/boards/vie...8e1abaa6365275b&start=15#sthash.0TWJosbX.dpuf

Trading LA for Noah would have been stupid for both teams. Trading Boozer, Butler, and a Pick would have been better for Portland. The team gets a young stud at SG/SF and a lottery pick from the Bobcats/ Hornets. Chicago gets a real second scoring option while keeping Noah who is essential to their team defense. But it did not happen.
