Who do you prefer to listen to?

I’m a daily Ropp and Suke fan. I find Suke to be hilarious. I also listen to the Mark Mason show from noon to 3pm

I used to listen Chad Doing. But in the Blazer offseason I just kind of find his subject manner to be boring.

Canzano is awful. I’m honestly surprised that people listen to him and he still has a show.

I remember when I was a kid for the longest time Portland didn’t have any sports radio stations and now there’s 4, which is cray cray.

Hey, did you ever listen to those podcasts I recommend?

You didn't listen to 910 back in the day?

I listen to Mark Mason too when I have the radio on early afternoon. He gets some quality guests.

I enjoy Suke and Ropp. I enjoy it better when Suke has guest hosts with him. Ropp is a little annoying and both of them together seem like they're just going through the motions at times. Suke and his brother or Suke and Andrew Nemec are better.

Can't stand Cansucko.

I've heard from a few "sauces" that Chad is a real chad. Huge primadonna.

AJ and Dusty is pretty good when Mason doesn't have a good guest.

Yeah but 910 came around in like the late 90’s maybe? I think that show with Mychal Thompson and Kermit Washington was on a non sports radio station.

I remember being a kid and I could barely get KNBR and would listen to like Farrell on the bench and the Fabulous Sports babe

AJ just announced she’s taking a job in Tucson.

I agree Ropp can be annoying.

The morning guys on 1080 before Cowherd are decent, when I feel like they’re not trying too hard to be funny

Damn!

Good for her. She's putting the work in, not just going with the pretty girl on the sidelines stereotype. I can see her going nationally soon.

Cowherd is annoying as fuck!

Goes on some long rambling "hot take." Then brings on a guest, repeats long rambling "hot take", and then asks the guest why his rambling "hot take" is right. Rinse and repeat about 3 times per show.

....

My favorite late morning sports show is Rich Eisen. He never makes the show about him like Cowherd and Jim Rome do. Eisen just loves sports, also his celebrity interviews are damn good.

Cowherd’s awful. Painful to listen to.

Eisen is okay but sometimes just boring and bland personality.

Rome has got a lot more calm over the years, but I will never understand the whole clone thing and their call in takes that are stupid. I actually think Rome is a very good interviewer and has solid guests.

I’m a sports geek, but Mark Mason might have my favorite show. It’s not necessarily funny, but very informative and interesting.

Yeah, I think those guys were on 1190.

I only listen to 1080. None of the others come close, and never will. Have tried, but they all are so boring.

Issac and Suke is the staple. Listened to them for at least 10 years now. They dont get TOO sportsy, cause thats when I tune out. Gotta have a good mix or you lose me quickly. Suke is just so good. Issac, and I realize im in the minority, is not annoying. I find him hilarious.

Dirt and Sprague are really good. Again, good mix of sports and funny and both are relatable.

AJ and dusty was the best combo for Dusty. Although AJ would sometimes grate me, she was super knowledgeable and had great opinions. Was a great partner for Dusty... cause Dusty has had some REALLY bad co-hosts. Sucks she left, but shes destined for better things for sure.

Colin Cowherd is the worst national guy on radio period. Just insufferable. Havent listened to him in years. I work from 6 am-4pm every day and it's Dirt and sprague, 3 hours of music, and then back to Dusty (and now, whoever the new co-host is) and Primetime.

Justin Myers on 620 from 6-9am is an enjoyable listen.

I listened to "Calling All Sports" with Ted Dawson, KEX? from when they started, to when Steve Jones and John Basset were on.

Dirt and Sprague bitch way too much for me. Fast talkers that try and be funny but fall on their face most the time.

They hit a different demographic for sure. I find them funny and entertaining, but I can totally see them missing with a lot of different people.

I'll listen to myself on whatever radio station signs me.

But until that never happens, I'll listen to Steven Vaughn whenever he's on. I would listen to Chad Doing more but he keeps bringing on this certain guest that makes me turn off the dial.

Chad is only palatable when the Blazers are doing well, and it's basketball season. His football takes are lame, his baseball takes are lame, that whole "SEC guy" stunt was fucking dumb.

I actually rarely, if ever, listen to the radio anymore. I hate commercials, and in most cases, talking about sports (in this medium) bores me to death.

But gun to head? I still don't listen to them.

Agreed...Steven Vaughn is solid.

Good lord, local radio?
I haven’t listen to the radio since maybe 2000-2001. It’s all horseshit.

Gotta stick up for my boy so Ima gunna have to disagree about Colin.
I do like Eisen, for the same reason I like Cowherd..... he's an adult!
I find Colin's takes (and that is his job, to give takes) to be insightful, and he even does a segment where he actually holds himself accountable, each week, who else does that? I enjoy Colin's sense of humor, and his interviewing skills are top notch, just ask Dame.
My only issue with him is he's pretty NFL dominant, and rarely talks baseball.
I just got fed up with Jim Rome's EGO, and the yelling match (TV) that is first take.
As for the local guys, it's all about Issac & Suke, though I must admit I rarely listen to them, or any radio really, but they own this market. I believe they are now a top five for the longest tenured sportstalk duo in the nation, so thats pretty cool.
But, I had to go to bat for Cowherd, because I really enjoy his show (I watch on TV) a lot, actually, and his sexy (albeit conceited) co-host does a great job as his sidekick.
Hard to take on "The Big Dog" but, I really like Colin Cowherd.

Her husband had to take a job there, so she had to join.

Was wondering why in the world you'd go from Portland to Tucson, that's not a step up in the business! Going from market #21 to 64 isn't a move most destined for national would take but gotta do what you gotta do for the fam.

Tough to go away from Suke/Ropp for local guys, though I don't know enough about the local scene having not lived there for 12 years. Have a good friend that does Saturday morning's for 1080. Also played football with Suke and known him since I was in 6th grade, his dad coached me up at as kid and his brother was our line coach in HS, good family. I appreciate Suke doesn't play a character, he is just a character as is.

1190 back in the day was awesome with Mychael and Kermit, plus they had a guy on late night, might have been national (Greg Robinson?) that loved to talk Raiders so I was all about it and would fall asleep listening to him, of course as long as the Blazers weren't playing and then it was all about the Schonz "Wherever you might be, goodnight EVVVVVVVERRRRRYBODY" and then right into the 5th quarter!

Still wish I had gone into sports radio instead of TV ... and probably should have hoped on a podcast 10 years ago, now seems like everyone and their mother has one and just no way to really stand out.

Was Greg Robinson on 1190? I thought he was on 1520, back when they had the guy from KATU and in the mornings they have the Weaver guy.
