So, if rumors are even close, there's a possibility we could get Salmons for Frye/Diogu, and Amare for RLEC/Bayless/Outlaw.

And some are saying things like "where would he play?" "he wouldn't fit". "whose minutes does he take"?

Let's go back over this, just talent-wise...

You're telling me that, at the cost of (currently) our 3rd PG (though charitably I'll call him our backup), our backup PF/SF and 3 players who've collected about 12 combined minutes in 2009, we could get multiple all-star Amare and 18 ppg defensive beast John Salmons? What more "lopsided deal" this summer can you pull off that's better than that?

So we'd be over the cap, potentially. That just means that, going into draft day 2009, you have the following:

PG: Blake/Sergio/Kopo
SG: Roy/Rudy/(Webster?)
SF: Salmons/Webster/Batum
PF: Amare/LMA
C: Oden/Przy

You could do a lot of trade damage at the draft with those pieces. Teams don't like Amare's attitude? See if they like LMA. Need a big? Przy could be on the market. Got a PG who's getting too expensive? Blake's available for the right price.

I don't see as much problem with the "logjam" potential.

Yah, there's no cause for any concern with Amar'e taking away minute from our current starting PF. None whatsoever.

And gosh, it's not like Amar'e hasn't had some issues in Phoenix in regards to chemistry.

If we DID deal for Amare, either he or Aldridge would be gone in a matter of days/hours/minutes.

I disagree. I can see us keeping him until the offseason and then decide what we want to do. Everyone knows KP loves to work his magic on draft day.
