This article doesnt say that Nike competitors cant buy the jersey patch, but I'd be surprised if the NBA allowed it.

There are some restrictions on who teams can partner with on the ads.
They can't be purchased by alcohol and gambling companies or media providers. Also prohibited are competitors of Spalding, which makes the league's basketballs, and Tissot, the watchmaker who makes the shot clocks.

Technically, since Spalding does also make sneakers and athletic gear, one could argue that the prohibition of Spalding's competitors extends to Nike's competitors as well.

Rather have Toyota, their logo isn't bad and I don't think it would be glaring. If they use the jersey as a background it would look fine IMO.

Just had a some beers with a few of my friends and word from a man that would know and who has seen the unis is that you WILL see the swoosh on the new ones. Very interesting.

Nothing against Nike specifically. Allowing ANY advertising space on jerseys is the first step towards nothing but ads on jerseys, like professional soccer.
