...oooooh, burn.

...well, considering that AOL and Verizon both benefitted greatly by this move, yeah, I'd say so.

...lol...hate to break it to you but most AOL users are not on "dial up"...I haven't been for over 15 years. And as with most users, it costs me nothing.

...and sorry, but yes, there are still others who don't have the luxury of broadband service...Earthlink, Netzero, Windstream, AOL, et al, still serve those people.

There's some people somewhere still on dial up.

Dial-Up > Comcast

...I have multiple Google, Yahoo, etc., accounts that I've had for nearly as long, but for whatever reason I was given a hard time because I still have AOL as one of my mail accounts.

...I had the unmitigated audacity to dare to post a link from AOL news awhile back and I was lampooned...not because of the story but only because it had "AOL" attached to the link.

...oh the horror !

The chat rooms were pretty good back in the day.

AOL.. POS.. owned it for years, never forget the nite of the merger between aol and time warner, hit all time high that nite, watchin the stock price on CNN, then falls off cliff, i was a deer caught in headlites....

...lemme try to explain it to the half wits who cannot understand a very simple concept...I do not pay for AOL...I have a FREE AOL email account I've had for years in addition to other email accounts (Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc...Is there any viable reason why I should close that account?

...I'll wait.

...that pretty much tells me all I need to know.

Because its the 21st century?
...nice empty mindless generalization ...the OP link was from the 21st century....derp.

...do you have a fucking point or not?...or do you want to continue to be a total dick?

Or...you've been going to the same barber for 25years, but its time to lose the mullet?

...pretty much what I thought... That has to be the lamest analogy I've ever seen...especially from someone who shaves their head.

Sorry man...dead serious. In 2015 you can have just about any domain name, cost in minimal. AOL has a stigma to it and deservedly so.

Do I need to post a poll? Lol!

...like I've said about 5 fucking times, I also have other "domains"...and they're ALL FREE...why is that so fucking hard for you to get through your thick skull. The only stigma is the one you and other "holier than thou" judgmental pricks have attached to it.
...Verizon bought AOL for a very valid reason. If you can dispute this, let's hear it.

Oh come on, stop. All you need is gmail, you already like chrome and google stuff. You can manage multiple accounts with brand G.

What purpose does it serve to keep the AOL address other than to fight with people when they poke fun at it?

8 tracks and LPs became cassettes than CDs then mp4, etc.
8mm became beta than vhs, than DVD and now bluray.

Shit evolves, out with the old, in with the new.

...uhhh I've already covered that...and why. I've yet to hear a valid reason why I should close my AOL email account...and all you can come up with is "because it's the 21st century"?...wtf kind of mindless BS is that?...is not the purchase of AOL by Verizon not part of the 21st century?...can you offer anything coherent as to why this was a bad deal?

...No, you can't and you know it. You're just mouthing off with nothing tangible but your own personal bias about something you're obviously ignorant of.

...your "LP, 8 track...etc" is another terrible analogy...did blue ray buy out 8 track patents?...uhhh, no...again, terrible analogy.

...and I'll flip your misguided logic back at you....what purpose does poking fun at people that have an AOL address among others?

...I'll ask one more time; do you or do you not have a valid reason why Verizon buying AOL was a bad deal or not?
