I was wondering, which franchise (in it's current city) has a title, has gone the longest between NBA finals visits?

I'm thinking the Bullets/Wizards.

Rochester Royals won in '51. You might know them as the Sacramento Kings.

EDIT: Nevermind, you said in their current city. Yeah, the Bullets/Wizards it is.

I think it's the Kings/Royals. They won the 1951 NBA FInals, and haven't been back since.

Original city.

I was thinking that we must be up there with the Bullets (though no where near as bad..they're coming on what, 40 years before too long).

We're just...man...18 years now. Soon to be 19.

Milwaukee Bucks 1974
Golden State Warriors 1975
Washington Wizards/Bullets 1979
Portland Trail Blazers 1992

I believe we're the only one of those teams who has gone back to the finals since we won a title.

I should probably put it this way, then:

Milwaukee Bucks: last title in 1971, last finals in 1974
Golden State Warriors: last title and finals in 1975
Washington Wizards/Bullets: last title in 1978, last finals in 1979
Portland Trail Blazers: last title in 1977, last finals in 1992
