..I said before the season began that CC and Tex were the "wild cards" for this team...Tex has been surprisingly valuable...but CC, not so much. I just have no confidence in the guy anymore.

Gardner battered 291 when Ellsbury was hitting in the lineup. He's battered 253 since Ellsbury went down.

...yup, since Ellsbury is no longer on base and a threat to steal, Gardner is no longer getting those predictable FBs...his BA has not only suffered, but he's also striking out at a higher rate.

Where was all this optimism during the losing streak? What has changed with this team since then....it's the same.

The only thing you can say with certainty is that this team has sucked less than the rest of the division up until now.

You can also add that this team is much better than last year. I don't know how the records compare this year vs last at this time but a 2-3 run deficit in the early innings is no longer insurmountable - that was tough to watch. What does that mean for this years team right now? 1, more fun to watch, and 2, has a shot to win a very unremarkable division.*

2014 = 29-28
2015 = 32-25

Hell, I'm a lot younger then most of you & I'm teaching you old bastards shit all the time.

Are you still wearing that Lava Rock Birthstone Rick.........

I heard a comment on Tex last week, how he's gone on a diet this last year beginning in the off season. No Gluten, no Sugar, no Fats (less red meat).......

I guess he's got a inherent inflammation condition, and this diet reduces inflammation tremendously, as well as Tex said: "this Diet, (recommended by his personal trainer); it's given me alot of energy and stamina I did not have last year"........

That's my point also Ron, though I am enjoying the teams current success theirs just been way to much inconsistency for this team to get excited about this early in the season.

And I know everyone is looking forward to the return of Nova but we've really got no idea how he's gonna pitch. So I'll reserve judgement on him & the team for another month or so.

You may be missing a good season.....what you're seeing now is what (for the most part) you'll be getting for most of the season IMO, - as long as the team stays reasonably intact.
First month and 1/2 was spotty with the Yanks also struggling along with an unusual amount of travel. No excuse, that's just what it is.

I would be very disappointed if they don't show to be more consistent as they play more home games....and they should win, IMO, their share of road games.

Celiac disease? I wouldn't even wish that on ARod.....Kruk and Schilling for sure but not the juice box.

...no, nobody is "missing" anything.

That's your opinion.
Looks to me like some , SOME fans are preoccupied with what could go wrong instead of appreciating and experiencing the joy and entertainment of the full season which very much includes a hot streak in June.

Any genius can say-
There will be bad stretches and injuries. (In the next 3 & half months)

...and THAT would be your opinion, wouldn't it?...it's about the 4th time you've posted that same lame reference and you were wrong the other 3 times as well.

As simply as it can be put, everyone here enjoys each and every W recorded in the win column. But wed all prefer to have put most of this division away already had Cashman not been a bumbling idiot in the off season. This team is winning despite an inept mgmt.

Lol, how so?
lol.....I have (thank goodness) put the Yankees' W-L record into perspective as compared to THE competition and it's still Cashman's fault. (?)

I'm just guessing here, help me out.....but are you hinting the Yanks would currently be "better" if they still had Prado and Shane Greene?

You do realize you can't prove it, and it can only be called a "guess" or feeling.

One thing is certain and you can hang your hat on....the Yanks are in first place by a couple of games and have a W-L record as good or better than just about any other team.

And this isn't a guess.

...nah, the people who voiced their displeasure about the off season moves (or lack thereof) and pointed to the flaws and question marks before the season even began are simply "bad fans"...gotta be.

And I'm very aware the Yanks' have a couple of older players who have had injury problems in recent years.
This is the one thing always in the back of my mind with this team and the biggest factor -IMO- deciding whether or not the Yanks finish with a "good" regular season record.

And I also distinctly said when giving my pre-season expectations -
"I don't know if ✴"it" will be good enough to qualify for the playoffs".
And as Casey used to say - you can look it up!

✴pre season WIN predictions/expectations.

I don't care to carry this further on, this is June 10, and a healthy portion of the season has been played with plenty more drama ahead.

Unless someone chooses to take a childish cheap shot at me...
....I'm willing to let this pass on.

I'm not thrilled with cheap shots and usually reply in kind.

Funny, you take issue with someone having a FEELING regarding a player and the Yanks and after you open up the can you want ME to clean it up.

Let me ask you a question.....when someone tells you, or you hear someone say, they have a feeling a certain lottery number is coming out and they play that number....
.....do you ask for documentation and their line of thinking..... blah blah blah.
Dig yourself man, cool out. Stop being obsessed with picking "fights" with me.

Obsessed? First off don't flatter yourself. And secondly I have no idea what CAN I'm opening up that you're talking about. You mentioned AGAIN! about Prado & Greene, so I simply asked that we don't rehash that same shit again, it gets tiring & NO ONE wants to keep hearing about it. It was a very simple request. You really need to stop turning everything into an argument.

yawn........did you get enough attention today?
