Yes. The 340 Darts were pretty quick as were the 440 Darts, but the fastest production car was a special edition Hurst Dart with a 426 Hemi.

In the 60s the Darts were all slant 6 motors...great motor but no race car by any stretch...very low to the ground...every couple years you'd have to replace the starter motor....it was designed with a 3 piece starter that couldn't really be rebuilt easily and had a flimsy splash guard...drive on a gravel road and it would rip right off and fill the starter with dirt.....only bad thing they did to that car other than making them butt ugly..if you wanted a fast Dodge you got a Charger

The early Darts had the slant 6 as the main engine but did introduce the 273 v8 I believe in the mid 60's. The later 60's is when the Hurst Dart came along with the 426 Hemi but the 340 383 and 440 were options as well in 69'.

Edit: My brother had a Camaro with a 4 speed Hurst close ratio shifter. That was so cool. He should have kept that rather than go for a chopper.

My uncle had a red 69 rs camaro convertible with a white interior that he traded for a big black dodge 4 by 4 truck which he then traded for a rusty Karman Ghia which sat and kept rusting until he had to give it away. GOOD TRADES!!!!

I need to find that car. I'm sure it is an RS/SS now even though it really wasn't. It was a legit RS though.

We knew someone in the early 60s that had a Karman Ghia. Loved that car. Ran forever. I dunno, maybe still running.

My dad owned three VWs all of which were great. My mom, not the greatest expert in good cars, got a Renault Dauphine - Piece of junk.

I loved the Impala SS, especially the convertibles. We had a '63 Impala dark blue sedan, the coolest looking one ever built. Just a 283 but it was a damn good engine for it's day.

I didn't see a sedan in the bunch.

Next year (this December) Volvo is coming out with an S60 sedan with All Wheel Drive. I thing we might buy that.
