They are just annihilating what I thought was a pretty good Cal team. 35-0 at halftime.

I'm more concerned about if the Beavers will be ready for the Huskies.

I'm definitely concerned about that, but it's not on yet.

I hate late games myself. Imagine living on the east coast and having to wait until 10:15 to watch a game? what the hell is that about?

But USC is done... washed up.... kaput..... didn't you get the memo?

At least that's what everyone will say if the Ducks win next week.

I don't know why everyone would be saying that USC is washed up if the Ducks win next week...considering the Ducks play UCLA next week.

I'm not sure why they would say that since the Ducks play UCLA next week?

USC has a bye before Oregon visits the Coliseum as well.

I thought those two schools merged to form a super So-Cal football team?

uhhhh, you thought Cal was a pretty good team? You haven't watched them this year I suppose.

nuff said.

In all honesty, I didn't look at the schedule and figured that's why you were talking about USC. Why else would you be talking about a team that the Ducks aren't playing for two more weeks? It is two more weeks right? I'm counting on you guys to keep me posted on who the Ducks are playing next ;)

So you're admitting that a Beaver fan knows the team you root for better than you do?

how sad.

;)

I'm not sure if my Ducks can go thru the whole Pac-10 schedule unbeaten! The thing that sucks is you are always better off losing at the beginning of the season then the end. Man I wish they could somehow have a playoff system!

Nobody else watching Ohio St. being taken behind the woodshed against the Badgers.

It's crazy to think that the potential #1 team in the country has had such a pansy non-conference schedule, and realistically has played 1 good team (Stanford).

And crazy to think that the potential #2 team in the country (could be BSU) has had a soft schedule too (outside of OSU, they really haven't played anyone that has been good).

Traditional power teams setup a cupcake non-conference schedule on a yearly basis. I don't think any game in the Pac-10 (except maybe WSU) is an easy win.

Beating all your opponents in the Pac-10 handily and taking care of your so-so non-conf schedule has been a recipe for national title games for years.

That's true, but I hate it. We're going to Madison, WI next year and I'm already looking forward to that trip!

I've heard Madison's a blast. Especially if you love partaking in binge drinking. Its somewhere I definitely want to go some day.

However, I'm not sure how good of a craigslist adult section they have. Just a heads up.

Beating a so-so ASU team, and a bad WSU team, and Stanford ( at home ) isn't nearly impressive as Duck fans think.

Now if they go onto beat UCLA next week, and USC the week after? That would be a much stronger argument to make. But right now, they've faced 1 ranked team, at home, and beat them.

OSU has faced 3 ranked teams (including 2 in the top 5), all on the road. They lost the first two obviously, but I propose that the Arizona win was more impressive than any win the Ducks have had.

I'm not saying the Beavers should be ranked higher than the Ducks (far from it). I'm also not saying that the Beavers are a better team (again, they aren't).

Re: Strength of Schedules. Although I don't know good this guy is, I did find this.

he has Oregon 55th for "S.O.S.", but Ohio State is even worse!

But can't you say that about a lot of teams? What is TCU's S.O.S? What about OSU's or Oklahoma's?

I have a gut feeling that the Dawgs are going to beat the Beavs today. I don't know why, but its just that hunch. Seems like the bookies agree with me, I just checked and UW is a 1 point favorite.

You can't really blame Oregon for scheduling. Those things are done a few years in advance, Tennessee is perennially a solid SEC team. We just happened to play them at their place during a horrible year for them, but they took care of business.

Arizona St. is a little better team than a lot think. They were a missed extra point away from possibly beating Wisconsin in Madison a few weeks ago. The same Wisconsin team that is crushing #1 Ohio St. It just goes to show how wild college football can be.

USC is still a team with 4&5 star athletes at least 2 deep at every position. They just have to find motivation to play. I think they're by far the most talented team in the PAC-10 and are the team to beat.

A plethora of those 4&5 star recruits left after the sanctions came down. Not giving USC as much depth as they had originally.

They may have talent, but they lack depth. Their coaching is suspect too.

They were 3 and 4 deep with those athletes. They're left 2 deep. Recently they have placed players in the NFL that couldn't get off the bench.
