i think it means defensively, not sure though

in any event mags is right, all sorts of teams put their center on LMA, for instance the clips know griffin will get torched so he sees LMA in the post maybe 4/5 times a game (if memory serves)

Yep and putting work on the block is tough when you are playing against the biggest players on their team. That's why I was hoping for more block work by Aldridge. Ads a few more moves to get by the bigger centers they try and put on him. If he can get by them; then it may stop. At least demand more doubles.

i think you nailed it right there with the mix of experience, room to grow and great price. trust me, you have to be intelligent to even get into Stanford (even if you're 7'0"). i'm optimistic about this signing.

One doesn't have to be that smart, especially if one plays sports.

That isn't true.

Stanford is known for bending over backwards to admit women, especially minority women, in the name of diversity not in the name of qualifications.

The first article gives a legal history. It says nothing about "bending over backwards to admit women, especially minority women, in the name of diversity not in the name of qualifications."

The second article clearly indicates they are not sacrificing qualifications in the name of diversity. The following are from the article you cited.
We bring top-performing black and Latino computer-science students to our fellowship program. We place them in an internship with a top tech company.
Here's a new group of students that are really sharp and successful, and it makes sense to invest in them in every sense of the word.
The emphasis on self-knowledge and intentionality, and the message that those things should not be optional or afterthoughts but are core parts of success, was really powerful for me.

I didn't know one way or another. i was just giving you their mission statement so you can find out for yourself. I didn't bother to read it.

Hmm...So Stanford's Mission Statement doesn't state that they "bend over backwards to admit women, especially minority women, in the name of diversity not in the name of qualifications."

That proves it then! //Thread

(I'm not actually taking a position on this. Just being an asshole. It's a slow night. Thank you.)
