I agree with drafting Love, although that's only if you end up with a late lottery pick. He reminds me of Chris Kaman (but a PF instead of a center).

Because he knows how to play the game? And plays it quite effectively?

He doesn't have the physical ability right now to play PF in the NBA for any extended period of time. He would have to do a Boozer and drop a significant amount of weight to even be functional there. Besides, he doesn't have near the athleticism that Boozer does.

How so? I think there are legitimate questions about his quickness and foot speed, but his post game is already better than a lot of NBA big men's and he's a great rebounder. I think the dude's versatile offensive game and B-Ball IQ will help him overcome his lack of athleticism.
 
Love's 6'9" 250, but a lot of that is body fat
 
Kevin Love would compliment Richard Jefferson really nicely. He is great at the long bomb and Jefferson is always there.

DeAndre Jordan will be good. Seems like everyone compares every big to Sene who looks half decent.

cpawfan hates Love. he always tries to put him down. love would be a great fit on this team. he's got skills first of all, ability to shoot the ball and an excellent passer along with a great rebounder. Sean and boone compliment him perfectly

Would love to see Eric Gordon on this team. I think he's going to be a great pro, but I might be a little biased. Either way I still don't think the Nets will have a chance at him.
 
I love Love's game (no pun intended; well, maybe a little). He knows how to play the game regardless of his height, weight, etc. Maybe he will be a career back-up. Maybe he will be a career quality starter. Personally, I tend to lean towards the latter. But there's no doubt he can be/is going to be an effective PF, which is something the Nets need.

Yes, there is quite a bit of doubt about him being an effective PF.

WTF? I don't care about the history of big men in that school, I know the dude can flat out play. Did you see him DOMINATE Arizona a week ago?
 
If you're referring to his lack of a face-up game, than that's a fair criticism. He still has to work on that aspect of his game. But I really like his understanding of the game. He's a far more cerebral player than most I've watched and he knows how and when to use his various offensive moves.

I was just checking his profile on DraftExpress and saw that they compared him to David West. That's actually much better, now that I think about it. Both players play under the rim for the most part, but their versatility allows them to still be effective. And West is clearly an NBA PF.

In the NBA he is going to need to be able to fight for position on the low block or stick to being strictly a face-up big. Right now he has trouble scoring with his back to the basket if he gets pushed out a few feet from his sweet spot on the low block.

I saw West play a lot when he was at X. That is a pretty bad comparison between him and Love. For starters, West is a much better athlete.

But to go down the West path, it took him a few seasons to be able to adjust to the NBA and he was a college POY.

Ok no to Kevin Love, I'm not going to say he'll be a bad pro, but he is not going to be anything special in the NBA, Not big or athletic enough for a PF. That being said the people i like are pretty obvious and we prob have no chance at em but yea Beasly, Rose, or Gordon. Watch some tape of them. Each of them are sick, and have diverse games. OJ Mayo, doesnt impress me too much.
 
Realistically OJ, Rose, Beasley and Gordon will probably be off the board by the time we pick...however if any of those players fell to us we would be lucky as hell to get them.

Otherwise we are looking at a second tier of Chris Douglas Roberts, Bill Walker, Davon Jefferson, Brandon Rush type guys...I'd go for Walker but I like Jefferson too.

Lopez is not the immovable object you think he is. Plus, hell, on any given sunday Jason Collins can give Shaq a hard time.
