What would a Summer League game be without the obligatory game-ruining quarter-long interview? For 10 years, NBA-TV policy has been to do it every single game without fail, no exceptions.

I turned off the sound. When you see him without sound, Olshey acts just like an actor, wagging his head around for no reason, randomly smiling, looking the interviewer in the eye at all times except when he jerks his head to the other side of his audience for a second to display both sides of his profile, trying to hog attention.

I've been complaining about this in every SL game for years, and I will continue to do so. It just ruins the game for anyone trying to seriously follow the game and assess the players.

Well that was a lot more fun than the last game!

I thought Vonleh looked really bad at first, but he certainly warmed up. He has the thickest calves I think I've ever seen. He is a large man... with a small head.
Frazier is awesome. He is DEFINITELY on the roster. He's like a smaller Fat Lever.
Crabbe never looks that impressive but then you look and he's got 24 points. And he's actually trying hard on D - that block was great.
I thought Pat C. looked fine. Hit some threes, had one good drive and finish, got some boards he had no business getting. Just what you'd expect.
Bogans is the one who doesn't look like an NBA player - I guess the year off was not good for his game. But I still hope we keep him for mentoring, and he's a pest on D.
Montero showed some real flashes. He's smooth! He will be the new Will.
Thomas had an awesome one-handed rebound followed by a beastly dunk in traffic. Wasn't he a teammate of Kawhi Leonard? He better be coming to camp.
Orton or Moultrie? They should both in a room and sign the one that emerges. At least for training camp.

Henderson is the obvious starter at 2 guard unless he's traded. Crabbe might end up starting at the 3 just for shooting.

Montero looks better than connaughton. Switch their minutes lol

Dude. I hate to say this. But who cares about the games. They are a shoot around at best. It is literally like a professional beer league. Sorry, but it's true.

Seems like it takes Vonleh an extra second or two to gather himself when catching the ball in traffic. Overall you have to be pleased with how he played though.

Look at all the posts here trying to evaluate the players. Seems like you're in the only one who just watches for the beer.

Yeah. I am definitely in it for the beer. That's for sure.

Crabbe is a better long range shooter, but Henderson is a better scorer. He is going to get to the paint more unless his hip issues makes him gun shy of contact.

Henderson is also much more athletic, something Olshey and Stotts are really valuing right now

He's probably a year or two away, but you have to like his potential. That being said, I lost all ability to accurately rate SL after Batum. Some players just play better with real pros.

As of today if I were Stotts I'd start Dame, Gerald Henderson, Al-Farouk Aminu, Meyers Leonard and Mason Plumlee, B team is CJ, Crabbe, Harkless, Davis.Vonleh

I'll go dame crabbe aminu Leonard davis.

Second unit mccollum Henderson harkless Vonleh plumlee.

I know man Batum was so trash in summer league I'll never forget it

No, pretty sure that isn't it!

In case it wasn't clear, I meant "looks like" in terms of facial features, not "looks like" in terms of game.

Our non-Orton starters looked like NBA players.

My Starters:
Dame/Henderson/Aminu/Davis/Plumlee
Bench:
CJ/CJ/Crabbe/Vonleh/Biebs

That being said, we'll have some interesting small ball lineups:
Dame/CJ/Henderson/Aminu/Davis

Tim Frazier for MVP!
Averaging a league leading 8.0 APG, and a whopping 7.0 rpg.
He's averaging 12.5 PPG on .459 shooting.

He's playing great, but would need a 20+ point game to be in actual contention.

It's Portland. That is all that you need to say.
I don't understand. Both players were ready to play for Portland but they were restricted and their teams matched. :dunno:

2. Mudiay is GOOD. He had 19 points and 10 assists in Sunday’s game against the Kings, but it’s not even about the numbers. He can get wherever he wants on the court, and his passing is so much better than what you imagined when you heard “streaky combo guard who spent last year in China.” I was pretty blown away. I knew he’d be athletic, and his body is already NBA ready, but his ability to find teammates makes him dangerous. The effect is a lot closer to John Wall than Brandon Jennings.

stats-wise, Frazier has been better
