Huge game by Plums when we needed it!

I'm starting to think we've finally found our center of the future. Give him a few years and he could be something special. He's everything we hoped Meyers would be.

He has played well the last two games of the playoffs. I'll give him his claps tonight. He is still surprisingly young and has room to grow. He really needs to work on at least adding a midrange jump shot to his game. That alone would increase his productivity 10 fold.

That was quite a game by Plums. Really saved our bacon.

Also Harkless: If that guy develops his shooting next season he will be a cornerstone of this team. All star potential if he learns to shoot.

If he could reliably hit free throws I'd agree!

Which do you think has the greatest likelihood of happening, Plumlee shooting the midrange and free throws better or Meyers learning how to rebound and pass the ball?

I'd put my money on Plumlee.

The guy has an extremely unique set of skills for a center.

How many big men are a legit threat for a triple double?

I agree with you. I think that Meyers is that unicorn you hope will turn up, but Plumlee has a lot going for him. Plumlee being able to facilitate was actually what kept the pressure off of Dame and CJ tonight. But seriously, a little sneaky midrange shot would do wonders.

Yup, he has a very particular set of skills, skills he has acquired over a very long career. Skills that make him a nightmare for people like the Clippers. If they let his daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. He will not look for them, he will not pursue them. But if they don't, he will look for them, he will find them, and he will kill them.

Nope. As I've often posted, Plumlee should play PF. He is too mobile and fluid (and short and thin) to stay at C for his whole career.

Sign some size like Kanter and we already have a very tall PF.

He's high IQ for a center, I'm sure he'll put in the work in the off season.

What's nice is he doesn't force the shot, he looks to pass for a high percentage shot.

He's finding cutters like Marc Gasol.

He'd consistently rack up the assists if he had a PF who could score.

These are all good things. And I love seeing it from him. But seriously, if he could work on that free throw range jumper and finishing at the rim, he would be fantastic. Right now, his touch around the rim is really hurting him. He has a lot of other great skills though.

He can't play PF for Stotts. He can't shoot.

Short?

Plums is 7'0.5" with a 36" vert. I don't know why I keep hearing this - Plums is legit 7-footer.

In basketball it doesn't matter where your head is; it matters where your hands and arms reach.

Mason has trex arms for an NBA player. DeAndre Jordan has a 7'6" winspan. Aminu is 7'3" and plays SF.

Mason's wingspan is 6'10"

Mason Plumlee joins Shaquille O'Neal, Tim Duncan, and Kevin Garnett as the only players to post 20+ Rebs, 9+ Asts in a playoff game in the last 30 years.

Impressive game for sure. That reverse putback dunk was special.

Just like last year's playoffs we hit on the gold that was CJ, this game opened my eyes to the possibility that we could run much of our half court offense through Plumlee next year. Get the ball to him in the high post and let him decide which of CJ or Dame is the better option, or hit the cutting big.

Plumlee is only 25 and has already shown decent growth. He's gone from a 1200 mpg player to 2000 mpg, improved his free throw shooting to a reasonable 64%, and gone from .9 assists/game to 2.8 (in 25mpg). Maybe with a bigger role in the offense next year he can take that same leap CJ took this year.

What's really killing us is lack of a reliable 3 and D type player at SF. Hark may be that guy eventually, but he has a lot of work to do.

Confirmed: Plumlee is our PCOTF (Point Center of the Future).

Plumlee is our Draymond Green. Our guards get him the ball when they are being trapped and he makes plays. I've been saying this all year. And Plumlee is young. We have our center. He is a bit small though. Jordan looks way bigger than him in person. All the more impressive that Plumlee grabbed 21 rebounds.

Is Durant's defense good enough for he to be that guy?

I was going to create a post last week, regardless of his play, just focusing on the extreme effort that Mase puts in on a nightly basis.
Rarely have I seen a player that just plays flat-out at all times, to the level that Plumlee does.
He may not be as gifted as some other players, but he sure does outwork most of them -
and for that I respect him massively!

Big round of applause for Plumlee's efforts and the great example they set to our team!
