I spent the last couple of weeks doing the Oregon portion of the PCT, and I had a few funny thoughts about you guys while hiking:
1) I bought a new shirt for the trip right before I went. After a couple of days I rolled up the sleeves to cool down and found little flaps and a button to keep the sleeves rolled up. I was very happy about this for about 30 seconds until Kingspeed came to mind: "Learn the Shirt, Then Hike."
2) PCT hikers often have special "trail names" and I met a guy named PapaG. Are you "The PapaG" I asked. "No, I'm not the rap star." No, I mean THE PapaG from the S2 forums. The guy looked a little puzzled "No." Honestly, after all these years, I still have no idea where PagaG got his name or that there is a rap star named PapaG. Regardless, our undauntable PagaG will always be "THE PapaG" to me!
3) When attempting long distance hiking one tries to go ultralight so there's not a lot of room for random memorabilia. Nevertheless, I took my trusty 2000-2001 Blazers Bandana which was not only cool, but very handy as well. I got a 1.3MP pic of me with it, but it's going to be a while before I can get it off my crappy burner phone.
4) Finally, I decided not to think about Meyers Leonard too much in the next coming year as lottery pick or not, when I realized that he is our 5th string center.
Lastly, it was great to be on the trail and it's great to be back.
