The 40 is hard. Best I got was 4.53 though. I used more technique in that one (slower, but one right after the other). But my friend today went as fast as he could (first time playing the game) and he got a 4.60. So I don't know weather it's better to go fast, or slower but with more technique. I don't know what you're supposed to do when it gets in that one slow motion blurrish view.
 
I got the game today for PS2 and I must say its pretty good. It's like all the other maddens as far as gameplay goes so they haven't really changed it much. THat kinda pisses me off that they never change the gameplay at all but I guess that's the signature style of madden. The superstar is cool and so is franchise..
 
Does anyone have it for PC? I got some stuff I couldn't figure out....
 
PS2 and all them are completely different from 360 version. I learned this from the shit Punisher was trying to teach me

does anyone else have it for 360? how do you get the unlocked hall of fame players out of the free agent pool so i can do a franchise without other teams picking up 99's
 
The running engine is so much more realistic in this game. That truck stick was so unrealistic. The highlight stick may be kind of cheap IMO, but it makes the running look a hell of a lot more realistic. Props to madden for that. Anyone who plays PS2.. how exactly do you use that lead blocking thing? like what button do i press when i'm running..
 
I LOVE THE NEW TACKLING ANIMATIONS!! so much more realistic! they actually look like the RB is trying to fight for that extra yard!

You can choose any player (except for the QB I think) to take control of and block. If your guy is strong, and you time it right, press up on the right analog stick to plow him. To make them dance with you and force them to turn, press R2 or L2. You can also chop off their legs by pressing down on the right analog sticks. Reggie Bush isn't as good as I thought he would be.
 
The Xbox360 version fucking sucks. When I buy Madden, I want to play Franchise mode. You cannot edit your players in the 360 version (attributes, numbers, or equipment)! There's nothing more frusterating than trading for a WR only to have him be number 63 and not be able to change it. I know it's a video game and it can't be perfect, but for the love of God they left out one of the best features in the game. It's ridiculous. I was so mad for dropping $60 on this game that I traded it in today for the vanilla Xbox version.EA needs some damn competition (the NFL 2K series to be exact) because they're putting out the same game every year that continues to be more and more half assed.

wait.. its 1000 times worse.. because u can't edit players? boohoo? really? wtf do u play the game for so u can stack up all ur player atributes and have all 99 or something? its not a big deal. thats not why not ppl play madden u know..
 
Ummm, are you kidding? Some of these guys in the game need major editing. For one, do you really that everyone is deserving of the ratings they were given? I know that I don't like some of these ratings, and I'm sure a lot of people hate some of them. Why isn't Santana Moss or Reggie Bush a 99 in speed? Why is Coles a 98 in the speed department? Why is Santana Moss only 92 overall, despite being the 2nd best reciever in the NFL last year?

I don't feel like having to have wasted $400, or at least think I did. I did was that money, but I'm not going to bitch about it, although I completely agree with you.
 
Microsoft sucks. That's why i'll never buy anything made by them. Sucks for some of you that wasted money on that.

You talk about making a Redskin better and a guy you traded worse. Ridiculous. The ratings are good enough. Only reason i'd like to edit people is so I could edit some numbers and maybe some hair. I also like to edit my 3rd string QB and give him all these visors and stuff... trick him out pretty much. But i'm fine with not being able to do that. The game is fine on the 360. You can't do 1 thing on it that you can on the current gen games... boo hoo, mise well cry. It's much better than PS2/Xbox. The 360 is great if you know what you're doing with it.

Since you couldn't edit them anyways in past versions during a franchise mode, I had no interest anyways. It just makes me mad that I sign a FA WR in the offseason only to have him be some random number like 74 or something and not be able to change it. It just seems to have more of an arcade like feel. Seriously, does EA want us to just do a practice mode and jack off to the graphics?
 
Who cares if a guy has a different number? Yeah it kinda sucks but get over it. It's a number.
