My kids got Madden 2013 for xmas. I tried starting a season but only found "career mode". In career mode, I can create a player (ME) and put him on a team, but then I can only control that player during the games. Is there a mode where I can start a season, create a player, add to team, and then control the entire team/players???? I remember doing this in the older Madden games when I was younger.

I haven't played Madden in years, but i remember people being pissed off that they removed franchise mode? You may be shit out of luck if that's what you were looking for.

I'm pretty sure (not 100% sure though) that you can't add a player to a team and control the whole team. But you can control the whole team just like it's a franchise if you choose the coaching option.

edit the roster before you start a franchise or a season

if there is no such thing, fucking lame

yes it is possible, do what 3bra1n1ac said. Create the player before you start the career mode, then start the career with the edited roster.

...no, the latest Madden '13 game did away with the "franchise mode" -- they force you to compete online if you want to play anything that resembles the older versions of Madden's famous "franchise mode". If you have Madden '12, then you can upload the latest rosters and start from scratch as if you're in the year 2013. It's too bad too because this was, IMHO, the best feature of the Madden games.

these shits are too hard to play. NFL BLITZ 4 LIFE!

start a career as a coach. It's the franchise mode. And you do not have to online.

...I suppose this might be the closest thing. But gamers don't like change and "franchise mode" is dead forever.

In Madden 13, a coach career is the new Franchise mode.

“The primary motivation [when we were designing Connected Careers] was to create a new, innovative career mode that allowed you to play as any coach or player in the same universe,” Madden NFL 13 senior producer Josh Looman told GamesBeat in an e-mail interview. “We couldn’t do that with the old features, so we built a brand new engine and plan to keep Connected Careers as our career mode foundation for a long time to come.”

Here’s what is and isn’t included in Madden NFL 13′s Connected Careers:
*Connected Careers puts players in control of any real NFL player or coach.
*Users can create their own player or coach.
*Players can create a league with up to 32 members.
*In each league, the game imposes a limit of one team per gamertag.
*It features salary caps and real contracts.
*It simulates the full off-season, the draft, and free agency.
*The fantasy draft (which is a fan-favorite mode from previous games) is not a part of Connected Careers.
*This mode will allow fans to control their team or player for up to 30 years.
*Players are not editable in Connected Careers.
*Madden 13 no longer allows NCAA players to import their draft classes from that game.

“Change is tough, but once the players get into the mode and realize that is has more depth and replayability than Franchise mode, Online Franchise mode, and Superstar mode combined, we’re pretty sure players will understand why we made the decision,” Looman said.

gamers? Basically the only game I ever play is Madden, strictly for the franchise mode. I bought a 360 basically just for Madden. It's the same thing. I have no idea what you're talking about that it doesn't exist. Or, I dunno what the hell I've been playing for the last 4 months.

So they removed the best feature of the game?!?! Brilliant move EA! Makes no sense!

In coach mode, dont you only call the plays and not control any players?? That's what my kids told me. I havent tried it yet.

No, that's something different, I think. You just start a new offline career, and it asks you, I think, if you want to do it as a player or a coach, and you select coach, and then everything is as normal except, as you go along, you can leave your team and go to a new one. So you follow the coach instead of how before your coach could quit on you.

I'm very dissapointed with Madden 2013! You cant update the rosters without an xbox live account. When you create a player, his rating #'s are pathetic. You can create a decent player in the Player Career mode, but not when using Coach's mode. Pisses me off!

...oh, so you can't "cheat" anymore?! :dunno:

Let's hope they can fix it when the new consoles come out. I don't think i'll touch the new one coming out this summer.

I'll remember this thread the next time somebody gives me shit for my post count.

No wonder you guys only have 6k posts. Worrying about pretend teams in a pretend game? lol

create the player before you start the career, you can give them all 99s if you want. I have done it so I know it works.

just create the player from the main menu, then start a new career with the current rosters
