umm, Tom McCall vs Kate Brown! No way McCall wins liberal in any category. Not even a contest.

But you're comparing McCall of the 60's and 70's to Republicans of today, and implying that it's the lefts fault or something.

barfo is saying that McCall would be way too liberal to be considered a Republican of today. Kate Brown has nothing to do with anything at all relevant tot his discussion. But good try.

A Republican like Vic Atiyeh would be too liberal for conservative voters in this day and age....

Not relevant? umm seems to me I brought up both of these people. It doesn't make any sense that McCall would be too liberal to win. Between him and Brown, I vote McCall.
So I don't get where you or barfo get your idea. McCall would be way less liberal than Brown so he should win in a landslide, all the republicans, all the independents and the smart democrats.

Atiyeh is way too Syrian to be elected today, lol!

When you run as a Republican, people know you are an American. They may ask or wonder if you really are a conservative but no more.

Might have to drop the rug store though.

His parents were Syrian Muslim immigrants, they set up a business that had dealings with Muslim countries.

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it's a terrorist.

I'll be damned! I thought he was a pretty good guy.

err, maybe you are thinking, like lemon & Gold

Actually, it is 100 percent true that America isn't white enough. I'll explain in another post in a minute.

The point is, you wouldn't give yourself the chance to vote McCall vs. Brown. McCall would never make it out of the Republican primary. You'd vote for some right-wing crackpot instead.

again, Kate Brown, her political beliefs, existence or you voting for her, has nothing to do with the argument that Tom McCall would be too liberal to be a Republican in todays climate.

See, white reflects heat and sunlight. Well, if we are warming we should have more white roofs and roads and stuff so it keeps temps down.

Not to worry. Heat make the atmosphere hold more moisture, moisture makes clouds, more clouds reflects heat, less heat makes clouds snow, more snow packs into ice, ice reflects light heat.
The ice pack builds, more ice lowers the ocean, the cycle continues.

I don't know where you get your information. I suppose if enough democrats vote in the Republican primary again, that might happen.

I get my information from the last couple of decades of Republican candidates/primaries. Admittedly I don't know how you personally would vote, but based on your posts you are far to the right of Tom McCall.

barfo

err, never said I would vote for her. I vote for McCall he is not too liberal for me. Surprises me he is for you.

Where did you read me saying that McCall is too liberal for me? Did you take classes on "how to argue against something no one said" from BGD?

I don't find the perception astonishing. I might be to the right of Attila.

You posted it, I assume it is your opinion, it sure isn't mine.

Whitebart.

Do you think through the things you post, or do you just get liquored up and post anything that looks like words someone strung together in a sentence?

Liquored up.

Ha! Are you recovering from some bad experiences? I do hope you succeed.

Well, it is Breitbart. Hardly the most reliable source.

I don't even know if I count as coming from "white" culture, I sure grew up in white bread land but they mostly rejected me. Jewish, radical, atheist, queer.

Personally I tend to think the country is too white, at least those in power are still, as they say, mostly "pale, male, and stale".
