I'm actually not that bothered by it for one thing we STILL don't have our froncourt rotation figured out, you have to do these tweaks early in the season. Sean Williams for now needs to come off the bench anyway, I like his energy off it. The only thing that bothers me is starting Malik Allen, this guy has done nothing to deserve time let alone a starting spot.</p>

Terrible. Williams needs to be starting, period. He needs to be on the floor to Kidd. They have some really good chemistry going, and it's improving by the game. Kidd needs to be on the floor with guys who can run, and guys who can create opportunities to run. Williams does both.</p>

Both guys help each other's game. They are designed to play together.</p>

Bringing him off the bench to play with Eddie-fucking-Gill is retarded. He's the best big on the team, by far. He could triple his rookie mistakes and still be the best big on the team. How many other teams don't start their best big?</p>

Of all of the starting combos, the one that hasn't been tried yet is most likely the best one... Collins/Williams.</p>

Normally I'd be all about the idea of "it's not who starts, it's who plays." But, I want nothing more than for Sean Williams to be on the floor with Kidd (AND Carter). If he comes off the bench, it means this will happen less.</p>

according to one of the beat reporters, this move is to better defend against Portalnd's high pick and roll which they run constantly. Problem is that there needs to be balance; you can't focus on defense to the detriment of offense. basketball is a lot like chess in that your peices must play both an offensive and a defensive role, or there will be weaknesses in your game that will eventually be exploited.</p>
