Carcamo was arrested Tuesday and charged with three misdemeanor counts of violating environmental conservation law related to his alleged disposal of a kitten and two cats, which were among those discovered in the woods.

He's also facing two counts of animal cruelty, both violations. According to the SPCA of Westchester, Ernest Lungaro, the director of its Humane Law Enforcement Unit, instructed Carcamo in July to get veterinary help for two kittens living in his apartment that were visibly sick. Authorities say Carcamo did not comply and the cats, suffering from severe conjunctivitis and upper respiratory infections, were taken away from him.

Carcamo was arraigned Tuesday in Yonkers City Court. Bail was set at $5,000 bond or $2,500 cash and the case was adjourned to Nov. 25. Information on his attorney wasn't available.
