every so often, my stupid DVR acts like what i recorded wasn't recorded, or if I try to watch it (as it is recording) it acts like everything was deleted.

Never had one from them, but even the outdated technology of Comcast and DirectTV are something we would have a hard time living without. Still spoiled from having Tivo for a couple of years.
