Marbury is Poisoning the Knicks

Marbury can seem like he is poisoning his own team at times. I still like Marbury despite his seemingly bad luck with team chemistry. It will be interesting to go through the season and see if and what Marubury learns under Larry Brown's tutelage. I want to see Stephon win a championship for New York.
 
Did anyone watch the sitdown interview he had with John Thompson on TNT?

He brought up a good point about his career, he's had 11 different coaches and playing with that many different people in your career, is going to cause you to be very inconsistent.

After watching the interview there were some positives and negatives I got from it.

<u>Negatives</u>
- Mabury is very immature and has a low basketball IQ
- He still doesn't take any blame for his history of losing
- He has terrible communication skills

<u>Positives</u>
- Marbury respects Larry Brown and things are starting to click for him
- Marbury understands the NY media is going to try and paint an ugly relationship b/t him and Larry Brown
- Marbury realizes Larry Brown will teach him the right way and allow him to become the player and best PG in the league
 
if Marbury has a low basketball IQ then how does a dumbass like Marbury average 20 and 8 throughout his career? How does that make any sense?

Marbury is very immature? Marbury is always the father of his basketball team, where have you been man?

Marbury bought Barbosa a car in his rookie year, and took care of him like a son in his rookie year, how is that immature?

Marbury bought every rookie on this squad 10 suits, taking care of them and welcoming them to the NBA


lol @ positives, Marbury has a million positives, his only negative is that he's too passive to carry a team all the way to the promise land, thats why the Knicks need another talent like Ron Artest
 
Buying things for people does not make you mature. I based my opinions from his interview, did you miss that very important introduction sentence j0se?

He admitted in the interview his knowledge of the game is limited. He's basically relearning under Larry Brown. Averaging 20 and 8 is not a measure of his basketball IQ, Marbury just has amazing talent. Larry Brown is trying to help Marbury catch up on the mental side of the game.

If you heard him speak, it's obvious Marbury is very immature. He cannot articulate his thoughts, and he's very childish on his view regarding authority and life in general.
 
how is Iverson and kobe a poison to their team? the points they make are stupid and gimme a break lol not kwame borwn my bad i meant chirs webber, lol he's been "dissapointing" at crucial times, but not a poison IMO
 
Just like every Marbury hater, they mention how he?s a poison when the Knicks are losing. Let?s forget that the Knicks played 9 of their 14 games this season on the road sp far. Let?s also forget that eight of the fifteen players on the roster weren?t here last year. Let?s also forget some of the players missed training camp and preseason. There?s so much more going on, and when we lose, it?s automatically blamed on Marbury. This season, Marbury has been great for us. He?s averaging 18 points on only 13 shot attempts, and a 47.1 field goal percentage. What about the fact he?s been playing the best defense of his entire career?

Wow, that makes it even worse. How can you label a player "poison" without them playing their first regular season game? Doesn't make much sense to me. Just the fact he considers Allen Iverson "poison" to his team makes me question his opinion.

The thing about Jerome James makes sense and makes Isiah Thomas look even dumber than I thought.
Except Kobe, AI, everyone else is Poison.

Clearly he's talking about Marbury's past..

I mean sure Knicks fans want to see it as a new beginning, and maybe it is, but you can't deny the past results..

In terms of talent he is easily in the top 5 for PG's in the league, and has been for years now. But he hardly ever translates into a top 5 PG.. Statistically, sure.. but he never wins?

High basketball IQ is a Jason Kidd or Steve Nash. These guys are less physically gifted than Marbury...Get similar statistical output as Marbury (they dont score as much but in terms of raw production you see what I'm saying--Marbury's assists are also up there).. And yet their teams do much much better..

And it's not like Starbury has been mired in a Clippers uniform his whole career.... He's been surrounded by talent on more than one occasion and has never been able to get to the next level.

Poison is probably too strong a word, but you have to admit there is something missing from his game, and he doesnt seem willing to figure out what it is.

But you're telling me, after watching almost 3 years of Marbury he has terrible and god awful descion making skills?

How can I take you seriously then if you guys are going to make comments this pathetic?


Do you guys have any idea that Marbury has had 11 coaches in his 9 year career....how do you expect him to master the offense like a Jason Kidd or Steve Nash


Its not like Phoneix or Minnesota or the Nets were awful teams, they all made the playoffs with Marbury, stop being pathetic.
 
I like the way they said potential partners and mentioned Amare Stoudemire. Amare wasnt the Amare his is now. He was a rookie and barely averaged 13 ppg when they played together. The next year they didnt even play half a season when Stephon was traded to NY so to imply that Amare was a perfect partner at the time is a false statement.
 
Penny Hardaway and Antonio Davis`s contracts are whats holding the knicks back

How the hell do you expect the team to sign major free agents etc when they have those millstones bringing them down

Bringing them down? AD has played good basketball for us. Some will disagree but I think he has. Those 2 contracts are going 2 help the knicks sign some free agents. Their in the last year of their contracts. Why do you think theyre both still knicks?
