Go Ducks!!

If we can just get by NC this Saturday I think the title is ours. Just one more game

If Boucher was healthy, I had them going to the Final 4. Without him, I'm very impressed with how far they have come. UNC has more perimeter height than Kansas and a slew of bigs against Bell who has to go it alone. Depth will be a big issue but the Ducks may have the more dynamic players.

Yeah unfortunately with all those bigs banging away under the boards, and the expectations of blocking everything, my fear is Bell will get in foul trouble. Then we are fucked unless KBW can play the game of his life and grabs some boards. I really would have preferred Kentucky.

Go Ducks... They had not been in a final four championship round since 1939 ( as per television info). They face the Gamecocks....(odd name)

NBA usually has games on NCAA Championship Monday but because of condensation on the Wolves' floor several weeks ago, the Blazers have to play during the championship game. Sucks.

CJ is right. We should have been given that game. It was THEIR fuckup. If it had happened on our floor I would expect them to petition the league to do the same damn thing. We fly more air miles than anybody and this certainly won't help in the playoff stretch. I can always flip back and forth between games. Although I guess it is a chance for HCP to get more Frequent Flyer Miles!

Wish I DID get miles on the team plane. Losing out on about 70,000k a year. If my Ducks make the championship game, sorry but there might not be too many replays that night.

Where's the Gonzaga game thread?!?!!!!?!!?!!???

Sleeping heavily on Gonzaga now aren't we?

Meh Gonzaga doesn't play anybody. They got rewarded for a weak schedule with the number 1 seed then got lucky when Xavier made it to the elite 8

WCC ? Come on now

Hahaha. What a dumb statement.

They beat Arizona, Florida, Iowa State, and Saint Mary's (3 times).

In fact, they played 6 games vs. the RPI Top 25, compared to 5 for Oregon.

Gonzaga was 6-0
Oregon was 2-3

Gonzaga also had a stronger non-conference strength of schedule.

So how the hell did Gonzaga succeed due to their "weak schedule"?

Gonzaga already Beat Arizona, so how did they "luck out?" by facing an 11 seed playing great basketball?

We whooped them by 24 points. Meanwhile, the Ducks BARELY beat an 11 seed in Rhode Island, and a 7 seed in Michigan.

Using your logic, we could say that Oregon lucked out by facing an 11 and a 7 seed more than Gonzaga because Oregon barely won those games.

All advanced metrics (BPI, Sagarin, KenPom) have Gonzaga as a top 3 team. All of these metrics also rated South Carolina as a top 5 defense (with KenPom ranking them #1), so these metrics are pretty accurate.

But go ahead and speak the same old uneducated rhetoric that doesn't apply at all to this years team. You're gonna want to do more research when you post on this forum because most of us know what we're talking about.

Come on now.

We talking Gonzaga here dude. GONZAGA ?

Stop it lmao

My first basketball game was a Gonzaga basketball game. My father took me to Lewis & Clark because he heard of this amazing new player they had.... a skinny point guard named Stockton. But in all seriousness, this is a Blazer board and most of the people here are either Ducks or Beavers fans. I respect the hell out of Few and what he has accomplished in Spokane. But I wouldn't expect to go on a Seahawks board and find a Duck's Final Four thread. I would expect most of their fans to tell me to fuck off. Although it is great that two NW teams are in the Final Four. I doubt it will happen again any time soon.

Yeah unfortunately with all those bigs banging away under the boards, and the expectations of blocking everything, my fear is Bell will get in foul trouble.
Through 4 games of the Tourney, Bell has been assessed 4 fouls total. It could happen, but that's not the trend.

Read an article yesterday that showed how the more people who participate in a given sport, the more parity. I remember women's college basketball from 20 and even 10 years ago, nearly all blowouts as there were simply not enough good players for 64 halfway decent teams. And now more players, more good teams, more close games. But the one exception to the rule: UConn. They lost three starters from last year (the top 3 picks in WNBA draft) and never missed a beat. Looking at them from Lobo to Bird to Taurasi to Moore to Stewart eras, their margin of victory keeps getting bigger.

Oregon gave it a try. They were just overmatched.

Florida State disappointing, never really in the game, although it got close late. After two thrillers Sunday, Monday games pretty dull.

Could see a sister act with Karlie Samuelson (Stanford) and Katie Lou Samuelson (UConn) if their respective teams win their semis. The two would not meet until the final game.
