Almost as good as the Kobe "MVP" chant as he bricked two free throws on Sunday. Almost.

They're playing it over and over again on the 5th Quarter.

Camby had 30 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block and was so all-over-the-place that the crowd at the 111th Rose Garden sellout began chanting his name in unison with 15.9 seconds left.

It was such a remarkable tribute to the man who has flat-out changed this Blazers season that owner Paul Allen emerged from his office after the game and tried to re-create the chant, stopping after two versions and chuckling
.

The funny thing is that I'll bet you think you're getting under my skin.

Nah, I was just having fun. I thought you were in on the joke. Your post does make me reconsider my position. I must be getting under your skin. :devilwink:

Real nice interview after the game by Brent Barry of NBATV with Marcus tonight.

Don't know if there's a link for it, but it does get repeated againt at midnight. It's the first highlight of the show, so you don't have to wait.

I have it in the TV truck! You'll hear it again Wednesday night! I promise!

it says we are 3-0 in games Roy has left due to injury? Anyone thinking of putting him for 5 second then letting him leave come playoff time? ;)

Anybody have an mp3? I think I want a new ringtone on my phone.

Thanks for the info! I caught it at 1am. Was a nice interview.

Was watching the game on NBATV.

I mean, you guys know I'm a Laker fan, but it's always cool to see people pay homage to hard-working, humble people like Camby. So this was really cool to see, I just sat there and turned it up. All I could do.

On Friday night, I wrote about how quickly and thoroughly the Rose Garden went from insanely loud to deathly quiet in the locker room. Tonight, that was not the case. After the Portland Trail Blazers put away the Oklahoma City Thunder 103-95, the same deafening chorus of cheers that spread through the entire Rose Garden crowd -- "Mar-cus Camby! Mar-cus Camby!" -- found its way to the locker room too.

The voice? LaMarcus Aldridge, who from a few locker stalls down sing-song shouted his appreciation to his new center, before offering his services as a bodyguard to protect Camby from the media swarming around him. Camby, the prototypical "seen it all, done it all" NBA vet, looked almost bashful as he tried to play off of Aldridge's teasing and then he took an extra minute to fix his tie and sweater in the mirror before taking questions.

"I haven't heard anything like that [chant] since I was in the [Madison Square] Garden," Camby finally said. "It felt real good, it felt good to be appreciated. They should have been chanting our whole team's name."

That chant was great!!!
I'd be cool if it became some sort of a tradition at the RG for the fans to chant the name of the best player at the end each game... if we are winning.
