<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Kiddisanet @ Jan 28 2008, 05:26 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Marcus's overdribbling and chuck-first mentality has nothing to do with him missing training camp due to injury. It's just how he plays. If trading him makes us better, we have to do it.
I also don't think Sean Williams should be untouchable. If we have to give him up to get better, then do it.</div>
By starting a rookie and a second-year guy who missed half his rookie year in the frontcourt, the Nets signalled that they are not competing this year and are focusing on the future.* The problem is that they continue to start and rely on their veterans in the backcourt. Something has to give. They have to decide what is the proper course for the franchise. The combination they have now won't accomplish anything.
*although I suspect that they thought it would be temporary until Krstic came back, which may never happen.
Incidentally, a Krstic-Boone-Sean Williams frontcourt rotation has potential, and assuming krstic ever plays again, i wouldn't mind seeing it unfold. They've got such different and complimentary skills.
