The most persuasive argument for legalizing pot might just be a dollar sign.

California's pot crop is worth $14 billion, according to a state report. The Press Democrat points out that crushes the wine crop which comes in at $2 billion.

Is it me or is it hilarious that the government can supposedly document the income off of marijuana, but they can't do anything about it law enforcement wise. For some reason I am betting that number for income listed above, is a educated guess at best, and the true number, is actually higher (pun fully intended.)

It's probably a reasoned and reasonable estimate, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were much higher as well.

I don't really pay attention to the names of the clinics, but they do advertise. I find it rather funny that they're flaunting breaking the (federal) law, and it's really transparent that they have doctors that will give you a prescription for a fee to make you legal.

Because:

1. The Federal law won't hold up to any Constitutional challenge...

and...

2. Marijuana is helpful in treating a huge array of illnesses and at worst is safely innocuous in comparison to any OTC drug. For example, it's a far safer and more useful medicine than Tylenol which is legally available to all people including babies without a prescription. A 5 year old child can legally purchase it and die from self-overdose with no legal repurcussions against anyone. Same goes for snail bait, starter fluid, DeCon...

The FDA is nothing more than a corporate puppet.

I said nothing about whom trumps whom, but it's a fact that Oregon has already sent the Feds whimpering away with their tail between their legs on both the Medical Marijuana issue and Assisted Suicide.

What I said is the Federal law is poorly contrived by mental midgets, is un-Constitutional, and won't stand up to any serious legal challenge.
