#Ducks offensive lineman Mark Asper performed Heimlich Maneuver on choking victim tonight here at Lawry's Beef Bowl.

Asper said he knew Heimlich Maneuver from his Eagle Scout days in Idaho.

Asper said he did a practice Heimlich, then the real thing. Piece of beef came flying out.

Oregon OL Mark Asper just saved an older man who was choking at Lawry's. Using Heimlich Maneuver.

Just talked to the man Asper saved, Paul Diamond, who is cousin of Lawry's Restaurants Chairman Richard Frank. Diamond's son is a UO senior

At 6'7" 335#, I imagine bit of steak is going to fly out. LOL. This is yet another good sign. We Ducks save lives and we win games. GO DUCKS!

The guy who choked at Lawry's told Asper that if he had messed up the HM he would have sued him. Yes, really.

Disgusting that we live in a society where monetary gain is esteemed higher than people and intentions. Asper did an honorable thing.

I can relate. :sigh:

Doesn't this kind of make you wish Asper hadn't saved him? I know that's terrible to say, but... man. Even if you're THINKING that, why would you say it?

Good thing that there are good samaritan laws to prevent jackholes like this from actually getting paid.

It's great they are in place, but it doesn't prevent certain scum from trying to sue those behind good deeds - and costing the deed bearer thousands in defense costs.

Oh damn! Take that Cliff Harris!

Oregon's Mark Asper: You like being the Heimlich guy? "It's better than suspension guy or speeding ticket guy. I'll take Heimlich guy, sure"
