Mark Stein, historically been a Blazer Naysayer, is giving us some love.

The Blazers are the other big newsmakers in this week's top 10, riding a six-game winning streak to move to a season-high No. 7 and add another P team to Philadelphia and Phoenix on the list of franchises that have surprised us at this early juncture.

and

Beating the Spurs early on, as they often do at home, failed to cause much of a stir, but I'd say that the Blazers and their fortified bench have everyone's attention now after six straight wins and four of them outside of Portland from the gang that closed out 2012-13 on a 4-19 slide in road games.

Just remember Blazers, you aren't getting this attention coasting. Your desire, hunger and hard work is turning heads. Remember!

Isn't Mark Stein one of the guys that are fools because he doesn't like Portland?

I get so confused on who we should and should not take seriously

No Mark Stein is an East Coast Homer that gives way too much love to mediocre Eastern Conference teams. Definitely overlooks Western Teams, unless you are the Lakers.

He was practically tripping over himself to ask Dame about LMA wanting out last night on ESPN.

how is he an east coast homer? And in what way has he historically been a Blazers hater?

I guess you don't follow him much?

I tend to read his stuff when I can. I don't see any sort of huge east coast bias out of him. And we've not been a good team lately, what sort of love is he supposed to show to us?

He lives in Dallas.

And? What does that have to do with his favoritism with Eastern Conference teams? You guys keep forgetting who is paying his checks. The ESPN media has and always favors the Eastern Conference.

Stein would talk about the reason he put comments in his Power Rankings is because it's one of the most viewed paged on ESPN/NBA, and he felt his should add some value with a comment that added something interesting. It always use to rub me the wrong way when he would make a comment on the Blazers' ranking that referred to the Mavs more than it did to the Blazers.

Oh Christ brother… Just use the damn search feature and you will get all the information you need. Search 2009, when we were on a tear!

He predicted us to be the 8th best team in the league that year, and we finished as the 9th best team. He thought Dallas and Denver deserved to be ranked higher. They both finished ahead of us. 5 of his top 8 were western conference teams. How is he hating? Come on.

That was the year we were the 4th best team. You are thinking of his 2008-09 prediction.

I clicked on the link you provided. It was for September of 2009. For the 09-10 season.

uh huh. We were the 9th best team with that link also.

Did you scroll down? Notice the playoff series with Phoenix? We made the playoffs being 9th? When did the rules change?

9th best team. OVERALL. Did you notice how in his power rankings, he doesn't split it out to east and west. He had us 8th OVERALL. We were 9th. OVERALL. Whole NBA. That's not "hating" or having an east coast bias. It was accurate.

Dude if you want to believe he doesn't have bias, then all the power to you. I read ESPN religiously (unfortunately) and I have never read them giving us any love for as long as I've been a Blazer fan. At least from what I've remembered. And I also read how they are extremely bias to Eastern Conference teams and Lakers. So you can try and reason with me all you want. I know what I read.

LOL. Ok. He picked us 8th. How is that showing a bias? I like how when the link you provided doesn't show what you wanted it to(oh christ, use the damn search, as if you were so exasperated someone couldn't see how plain as day his bias was), you revert to well, I know he is because I know. I can try to reason with you, but what's the point when you your argument will revert to that? Sorry. I read the link you provided to show me how biased he was. I disagree with your findings on it. And he actually picked us higher than we finished that season.

Yeah okay and that's why MM made the smart remark about blazer fans thinking he's an idiot right? Idiot for being fair to the Blazers?! I don't think so. Having MM say it so freely, knowing how he remembers most everything, doesn't hold much weight?

Like I said, you can try and play Marc not being bias and scathing towards the Blazers. I know what I've read and I know how he used to treat us.

Mags I can't even process what the hell you're saying now.

I just wanted to take a quick second to point out how bad the Knicks and the Nets are. And how much I love it. That is all.

Don't you get tired of your act?

Don't you get tired of your act?

Not even a little.

Don't you get tired of people bashing national writers and telling everyone how useless they are until they say something positive about the Blazers? Then magically they are quote worthy
