If He did go your complaint would be:

"Why the hell is Lillard risking his future playing for a team that's not paying him!?"

Each player has to decide when playing nationally helps or hurts his NBA game. With Nic, I think everyone agreed he needed rest. Lillard may think he is better off not playing. Hopefully Plumlee understands.
Exactly.

By staying home Dame can focus his daily workout on the things he needs to work on. This is better for the Blazers than Dame spending his summer a minion to someone else's agenda.

Likewise, playing with Team USA is probably a good way for Plumlee to work on his game against a high level of competition. This is good for the Blazers.

Different strokes for different folks.

I don't think I'm on any fence. I looked at the "How Dame Is Spending His Summer Vacation" thread and my reaction was I'm glad he stayed home and is working on the parts of his game he thinks he needs to work on. His physique looks great. Unlike someone like Plumlee, at this point in Dame's development I don't think he gets a great benefit from scrimmaging. Conversely, it seems like this kind of competition against good players would be beneficial to Plumlee.

Also Team USA isn't going to let him drink during his workouts.

Plumlee has got game! Great passing and good instincts..I like this kid on our team

Sorry, but there was nothing sweet about it. Was much, much more relaxed than NBA garbage time. It didn't resemble the game of basketball at all. Just looking at the highlights video, no one was really trying AT ALL except Plumlee and Faried. Lots and Lots of cherry picking....

I could barely stomach 5 minutes of it. I even chose to watch preseason NFL over that shit. It was actually worse than watching an all star game.

The All Star game is a defensive clinic compared to what I saw on the scrimmage highlight reel.

That's good. Plumlee takes basketball seriously.
