Until he re-works his FT stroke.....maybe he should take one small step to the right. He seems to clank it off the left side of the rim. Hell I don't know, it is ugly for sure. I expect the opportunity for a few "and 1's" from him so he needs to figure it out.
But I love the rest of his game.
 
I remember when Wilt Chamberlain tried shooting them from the top of the key.

No, wait, no I don't. I'm not that old. But I heard about it.

Why are his free throws so flat? I'm pretty sure he's capable of lifting his arms up over his head?

Yeah it just makes no sense why he shoots them like that. I think I'm gonna have to try to completely ignore his free throw shooting because it's legitimately upsetting to me.

I know. If he simply held the ball over his head, bent his elbow, straightened his arms and flicked his wrist he'd shoot them better. At least they'd have some arc.

I watched it...and the Rick Barry underhand.....and the Don Nelson "shotput". That was when the NBA still embraced a degree of individuality, even eccentricity.
 
FTs aside, this is a deal that could work out for both teams.

At worst, Plumlee is a lateral replacement for RoLo, and could be a significant upgrade. OTOH, the Nets got an athletic defensive specialist who will be very cheap for the duration of his rookie deal. Win-win.
 
We needed Plumlee more than we needed no jump shot shooting RHJ. Olshey went out and got better options than RHJ, and with NBA experience to-boot.

And honestly, with the team's new identity, we did not need Fropez's plodding ALMOST reaching the rebound, game. Not a lateral move at all.

I've been bagging on Mason's free throws but I do appreciate the rest of his game BIG TIME.

I don't know how an NBA team doesn't put a stop to player's bad habits right away. I don't mean changing Reggie Miller's form because it works.

But

If you shoot 40 something percent I make you change your form until it looks decent whether your percentage goes up or not.
 
At least at the free throw line until you get more comfortable with it in the game.
 
Robin is only averaging 6 rebounds per 36 minutes for the Knicks. Plumlee is grabbing at twice that rate.

Lopez is also he's so slow and lumbering. Plumlee is a upgrade on both ends in my view.
