He played 12 seasons, wasn't fantastic but wasn't shit either.

Besides, Duke has put out some real solid players over the years. Pretty consistently good players.

I really like Plumlee, but we do need another ogre to be the goon squad on occasion. It would've been nice to sub him out for a few minutes without loosing so much size.

Agree to disagree. First, he's not THAT young - he's already 25 (he was 23 as a rookie).
Second, yes he's smart, but he can't shoot and he's not a great defender. We were getting abused by the Bulls last night: Pau Gasol could get whatever he wanted. I do love his passing and he is a surprisingly good dribbler, but that's like your PG being a surprisingly good shot-blocker.

Here's hoping the Duke connection convinces Quin Snyder to get Utah to swap Gobert for him. After all, Plumlee has better stats right now...
 
I have been vocal that the trade of RHJ was a mistake, but since RHJ is injured, Plumlee has a chance to look good. And to his credit, he is. And now they've finally launched the Real Plus-Minus stats for this season, I see that Plumlee is 9th in the league in DRPM!
(Of course, it kind of undermines the glamour when Jared Sullinger is 13th, but still.)

Sullinger has been rebounding like a beast though. His scoring is down a bit, but overall he has played well.

I think that question is impossible to answer because it all comes down to what you get in return. Yes CJ can be part of a championship team. (Whether he starts or comes off the bench) Yes I guess it is possible that some team will trade us a really good player for multiple Blazer players. (Including CJ) But good luck with that.

Batum is racking up assists and doing well on the boards and shooting a lot of 3's. But I would not call him a really good wing scorer. He is just a really good three point shooter.....for now. We can always find stand still 3 pt shooters.

Like in previous years we need a SF who can score from everywhere. Especially in the paint. Batum btw is shooting under 40% from the field in the last 10 games. Aminu is doing better than that.
