ME2 wasn't really a big leap forward for the series and I imagine 3 will be in a similar mode. Still a good game but starting to show that there isn't a lot more they can do with the gameplay mechanic or with this generation of consoles.

ME1 was supposed to be an RPG game, and it did that. ME2 was supposed to be a TPS, and it did that. For ME3 they said they will combine the two games highlights.

This is the last Mass Effect in the trilogy. They might make others, not sure.

Ok. At least BioWare is making them. Outsourcing sequels leads to problems.

Obv. I am going to buy and enjoy the game, I'm just getting a little cold to sequels lately. Fable III was a let down, Fallout: New Vegas is fun but again it is really just more of the same, AC Brotherhood is more of the same... time for some new IPs.

I love what BioWare is doing with the way they are doing the sequels. What you do in ME1 and ME2 will affect ME3.. I think thats something every RPG should do if they have sequels.

They don't have a release date set yet... seems unlikely that ME3 would be on the PS3 before mid-late 2012, putting its release about at the same time as we'll be upgrading consoles.

Given that Mass Effect 2 is, at worst, my second favorite game of this generation, I'm incredibly excited for Mass Effect 3, and have been looking forward to it even before I beat Mass Effect 2 earlier this year. Bioware, in my book, has nearly perfected the RPG game with this series. Their storytelling is the best in all of video games, and the action sequences in Mass Effect 2 were about as good as any 3rd person shooter out there. I can't wait for the third.
