For those confused about the current roster moves and 2 year contracts, I was told “we are matching salaries up with someone”

True. It only goes up with inverted explosive diarrhea.
Best way to do itI'm choosing to read those two statements in a literal fashion
Best way to do itYeah so this one time i was eating dinner at macaroni grill and got this cramping feeling in the gut barely made it to the bathroom and… well… ceiling mops were involved…ill leave it at that.
Grant is currently eligible to extend with the Blazers for up to four years, $112.7 million. He became eligible to sign it in January when his six-month trade restriction expired, but he confirmed that he plans on entering free agency instead. He can earn up to the maximum as a free agent, either five years $233.2 million with Portland, or four years, $172.9 million with another team.

we didn't get two year contracts. we got RFAs whose contracts expire this summer. For those confused about the current roster moves and 2 year contracts, I was told “we are matching salaries up with someone”

Sounds about right. Duck the tax but sell it to fans as avoiding the repeater tax so the team can win more the following season.we didn't get two year contracts. we got RFAs whose contracts expire this summer.
as far as matching, i think it means we want to pay out of our nose for Grant and the expiring deals will allow us to duck the tax again if we don't bring them back.
there is no plan. it's all about saving jody $.
Ya, could be.we didn't get two year contracts. we got RFAs whose contracts expire this summer.

Saving Judy money by overpaying players? I'm not following the logic.we didn't get two year contracts. we got RFAs whose contracts expire this summer.

If he was more than a one dimensional player as a big he might be worth the max, but as a number 3 at best on offense he isn't, imo.I hope the writer is right about all the teams who could be interested in a sign and trade.

I'm assuming he means the waiving of Aricidiacano, and signing of Jeenathan to a 2 year deal.we didn't get two year contracts. we got RFAs whose contracts expire this summer.

Oh.I'm assuming he means the waiving of Aricidiacano, and signing of Jeenathan to a 2 year deal.
It's meaningful if we, as he alluded, needed an extra bit of $ for salary matching purposesOh.
I thought Willams was fully non guaranteed next yr. The 2nd yr is meaningless.
Nope. I don’t share a lot from pizza guy. Too much bullshit comes back. I just want everyone to be happy and enjoy their lives

Yes realistically he won't get a max, but he and his agent will try for one. Someone will offer him more than that 30m/year and the weather may be nicer so that means we'd have to offer him 35...lolwhy do people keep saying Grant wants a max deal?
the projected cap next season is 134M. Meaning that a max 5 year deal for Grant would be 46.6M/year. A max 4 year deal would be 45M/year. Do people really think Grant will be asking for 45M/year?
If I had a choice between paying Grant or Ant 25M/year I'd choose Grant every time. Do I think Grant will 'settle' for 25M/year? Probably not. But just like last season I don't believe there will be any teams lining up to pay Grant that much. I don't want the Blazers to pay Grant 30M/year; and certainly don't want Portland to pay him more than that. I hope Cronin leverages the market a lot better than he did last summer with Ant & Nurk, but if he doesn't I hope they are operating in a S&T situation. But I also don't want Portland to lose him for nothing. They need tradable contracts
Long term plans are always good. Markkanen will be a free agent after the 2025 season.Id go after Markkenan as an UFA, making 16m/year., but no doubt look for 20 plus.
